I'm very sorry to have to report another icon of the Antique community has slipped away, Steve Bogner who was a fixture at most Antique Fairs, not to mention Camberwell Market. Is finally at peace.
He passed away this morning, the last few years were difficult but, Steve never gave up, often stalling up just days after major surgery. How he managed that, was a mystery to all of us.
With the passing of Steve, and people like him we lose a knowledge and history that is irreplaceable and we as community are the poorer for it.
Condolences to his partner Suzie.

Here are the next three events "Maldon Events" have in the pipeline, the flyers are at the printers now, or in the case of the Dec. Swap well and truly printed, and out amongst the Swap Meet community already.
Here is an update on what's been happening since the June Swap.

1]...There will not be an October Collectables Fair, the last one was way too close to the Bendigo Swap, we need to find a less crowded date. Even though the crowds were good it just spreads everybody way too thin trying to build stock up, and re-group.

2]...Maldon Antique Fair will trade on the Friday evening from 5pm till around 10ish the footy club supports the move and has agreed to run the lights as long as necessary, food will also be available at the oval. We will trade on the Saturday as per normal, on Saturday night you can enjoy all Maldon has to offer, spend the night on the oval then either go home or attend your various Sunday markets, this is good opportunity to take advantage of the Sunday.
we sounded out most of the stall holders and heard nothing but enthusiasm for this idea. This had to come about because numerous stall holders were slinking off, after 5 and during the night, it really was starting to compromise the integrity of the event, and create a lot of I'll will with buyers.

3]...The Bendigo Easter Collectable Fair is running again, last years looked very, very promising till the fuel crisis pushed the price of fuel throught the roof
And it withered on the vine,
(It did no favours for the March Swap meet either let me tell you)
This Easter we will be offering Full sites, 8 by 4 metres for $200
and half sites, 4 by 4 metres for $100. Plus the usual
Camping at the venue,
Friday set up
Drive in to unload AT your site,
ATM at the main gate
Unlimited tables for hire and wall panels too.
As usual if you need to talk or ask questions 0414 244 842 will usually find me, text or ring......... I'm only doing two days a week on the cabs now

After the usual Winter hibernation, Spring is bekoning so that means that "Swap Meet" season is fast approaching. and Maldon Events is announcing our next Swap will be on, December 13th, a Sunday as always.
It will be run on the same day as the last Maldon Market for the year (always one that gets good crowds)
For all those folk who have been living in a cave for the last 12 years, here is what you've been missing. ️Maldon Swap Meet......
✅️6 by 6 metre sites for $25
✅️No need to book, just rock up we will get you on, Promise
✅️Saturday Set up is welcome... and advised. Or before 6am on the Sunday.
✅️A Free bus into town on the Saturday night for a b**r and a feed.
Or stay and eat from our on site catering
✅️Sell whatever you want, it is your business not ours, we aren't snobs,
✅️A great chance to clean out that shed you have had stuff in for years.
✅️Public admission just $5 and gates open to the public at 7AM.

At Maldon Events we try to find time to have a bit of fun as well as organise great events, it is particularly easy when you have such a great day like last Sunday at the Maldon June Swap Meet. What a glorious day
I'm having a bit of fun with Edward a Maldon Swap fixture and, Geoff Simmons one of the iconic Camberwell crew who have supported me since day one. As you can see and hear we get off to a good start then it all descends into chaos and laughter.
The item being discussed was a 1937 royal souvenir flag, advertising Nugget boot polish. Which Edward became the proud owner of
for....$15, it just follows if your not paying through the nose for stalls, you can pass the savings onto your loyal customers.
