EUROPEAN RABBITS | Small Pest, Significant Impact
European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) are one of Australia’s most widespread introduced vertebrate pests.
Despite their size, rabbits can have a significant impact on agricultural production and natural environments through grazing, competition for food, damage to vegetation and prevention of native plant regeneration. Warrens and digging activity can also contribute to soil disturbance and erosion.
