A louisiana iris in my small pond. Each flower lasts just 2 days, so flowers 6 days a year. Also comes in white.
Star jasmine is a little past its best but the aroma is still excellent.

Star Jasmine - trachelospermum jasminoides - planted just 3 years ago at only 30cm.
Now 2 metres and covered with jasmine scented blooms.

Top to bottom - rosemary Tuscan Blue & Benenden Blue; curry plant (silver/grey); purple sage (bottom left); thyme (bottom right)..

Jasminum officinale is in full bloom at the moment. (Click on pics for full view.)

A stunning display and the aroma fills the garden.
It's just a pity it flowers so early in the season. My garden doesn't get much use at this time of the year. Compare with the photo taken a year ago and you can see how quickly it's growing. Another few years and it should cover the fence it is growing on.
Other plants shown - dwarf lime tree (right) also in bloom - scented but swamped by the jasmine's scent; murraya min-a-min (2 @ front) - scented but has not flowered since planting 2 years ago; Paulownia (top left) - white flowered orchid tree - has yet to flower since planting 3 years ago.

Corrigin (wheat belt) - my latest design project....and the first I've ever done for a site I've never even visited - it's 5 hours drive away!
I really am starting from scratch here!

Jasminum polyanthum - Jasmine to you and me!

This did nothing for about a year, then suddenly, over winter, it took off. It's now 1.2m x 1.2m and the scent can be detected from 30 metres away. Spring flowering, it started early - 1st August. Will grow to 6 x 6 metres. Frost hardy, not that I need to worry about frost! Click on photo for a better image. This one looks out of focus! Plant in the foreground is Murraya Min-a-Min - which produces white flowers scented like orange blossom.
