The importance of brining in an ESD consultant early to projects is to itself proving beneficial again. I don't think it's the code that is the problem but how architects, designers and builders are approaching it. Projects that have come across our table are demonstrating that they are not designing houses with the new codes in mind but an after thought, still. Then clients want standard single glazed windows like the good ole days when to pass a BASIX you only needed to achieve the heating and cooling loads. The bar has shifted and the approach to the building process needs to change.
