At Peel People Solutions, we believe that successful businesses have a responsibility to contribute to the communities that support them.

That’s why we are proud to be making regular donations to the Peel Community Fund, one of the giving initiatives offered through the Peel Community Foundation.

What we love about the Peel Community Fund is that it allows local people and businesses to invest in the future of our region, with funds directed towards community-led initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impact.

As a values-driven business, it is important to us that our contribution supports causes aligned with our commitment to people, leadership, wellbeing, education and community development.

Giving back doesn’t always have to be grand gestures. Sometimes it’s about consistently contributing in ways that help strengthen the community around us.

We are proud to play a small part in creating positive outcomes for the Peel region and look forward to seeing the impact these funds can make over time.

I’m curious…

How does your business give back to your community?

By giving back, we create opportunity, reduce disadvantage and build a stronger, fairer future for all. Anyone can be a philanthropist — and we make it simple through impactful giving accounts, grants and scholarships that change lives.

I am pleased to share that, after completing my training and certification in February, I am now officially accredited and registered with AMDRAS (Australian Mediation and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards).

This accreditation represents an important step in the continued growth of Peel People Solutions and our commitment to supporting workplaces through practical, people-centred conflict resolution and mediation services.

Workplace conflict has a significant impact on people, culture and organisational performance when left unresolved. My goal is to help organisations navigate difficult situations early, constructively and professionally, before issues escalate into formal disputes or long-term workplace damage.

As an AMDRAS accredited mediator, I look forward to continuing to support businesses, leaders and teams through:

• Workplace mediation
• Conflict resolution consultancy
• Leadership coaching
• Difficult conversations and communication support
• Training and capability building

This work aligns strongly with my broader passion for building healthier, stronger and more sustainable workplaces across the Peel region and beyond.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me throughout this journey.

I am excited for what lies ahead 🤩

Boards shape organisations.

Strong governance shapes outcomes.

One of the areas I am most passionate about is working alongside Boards and leadership teams to create clarity, confidence and stronger decision-making.

Whether it is strategic planning, governance consulting, board development, or mentoring Chairs and Directors, my focus is always the same:

Helping Boards move from good intentions to strong, sustainable leadership.

This work often includes:

• Strategic planning facilitation
• Governance frameworks and board role clarity
• Board and committee reviews
• Decision-making frameworks
• Leadership mentoring and coaching for Chairs, CEOs and Directors
• Training in governance, accountability and courageous conversations

Boards are not just about compliance.

They are about purpose, leadership, stewardship and ensuring organisations remain relevant, sustainable and trusted.

I am also proud to be a member of Women on Boards, an organisation committed to increasing gender diversity and strengthening leadership in Australian boardrooms.

For me, professional development in governance is not optional. It is part of the responsibility of good leadership.

Boards matter.
Governance matters.
And the right conversations at the Board table matter most.

If your Board is navigating growth, change, governance uplift or strategic planning, I would love to connect.

Empowering Women's Leadership in Australia - Join Women on Boards to promote gender diversity in the boardrooms.

Today, on ANZAC Day, we pause to reflect, remember and honour.

We acknowledge the courage, sacrifice and service of the Australian and New Zealand men and women who have served our country, and those who continue to serve today.

ANZAC Day is more than a public holiday. It is a reminder of resilience, mateship, leadership and the strength found in standing together through challenge.

At Peel People Solutions, we believe these values continue to matter deeply in our workplaces, our communities and our everyday leadership.

Today, we remember those who gave so much, and we reflect on how we can lead with greater courage, compassion and integrity.

Lest we forget.

What is “gardening leave”… and why do employers use it?

It’s a term that often raises eyebrows.

No, it doesn’t mean sending someone home to tend the roses.

Gardening leave refers to a situation where an employee is asked not to attend work during their notice period, while still remaining employed and being paid.

At first glance, it can feel unnecessary or even unfair. But when used appropriately, it serves a very clear purpose.

From a business perspective, it helps to:

• Protect confidential information and intellectual property
• Maintain stability within the team during a transition
• Safeguard client relationships
• Reduce the risk of conflict or disruption in the workplace
• Allow time for a smooth and considered handover

From a people perspective, it can also create space.

Space to reset, reflect and prepare for what comes next without the pressure of day-to-day work.

Like many workplace practices, it comes down to intent and ex*****on.

Handled poorly, it can damage trust.

Handled well, it can protect both the business and the individual.

As always, clarity in contracts and respectful communication are key.

Have you experienced gardening leave, either as an employer or employee? I’d be interested to hear your perspective.
