We’re back from our Strategic Reset Retreat with five local business owners, founders and CEOs ... and what a weekend!

Biggest surprise was how quickly the group connected, and how quickly trust was built in the room.

The biggest challenge was the Wi-Fi - grr.

And the biggest value was the depth of the work, the quality of the conversations and the questions people were willing to explore were incredible.

We came home feeling very proud to be part of co-op that can create this kind of space. Somewhere business owners, founders and CEOs can step away from the day-to-day, work on their business, and make some space to work on themselves too.

A pretty special few days.

Something’s brewing for the Bayside.

Advertising opportunities for the 2027 Visit Wynnum Manly Visitors Guide will be opening very soon.

We’re currently putting the finishing touches on the new Media Kit, website and advertiser booking experience - making it easier for local businesses to see what’s available, choose the right option and get involved.

The Guide is all about giving people more reasons to visit, explore, eat, shop, stay and spend time across Wynnum, Manly, Lota and our beautiful Moreton Bay.

And, naturally, the local businesses that make this area worth visiting are a pretty important part of that story.

Twenty-five years is a long time to champion a community - and Kevin has done it with enormous care, consistency and heart.

The 2026 Wynnum Manly Visitor Guide marks Kevin’s final edition, after decades of helping locals and visitors discover the businesses, places and people that make our Bayside community what it is.

We’re incredibly grateful that Kevin has entrusted the Sage Room Co-op with the next chapter of the Guide. From the 2027 edition onwards, our team will continue building on the strong foundations he’s created - supporting local businesses, sharing the stories of Wynnum Manly and encouraging more people to explore our patch of the world.

Kevin isn’t disappearing, he’ll still be part of the community and a proud ambassador for Wynnum Manly - just without the annual publishing piece.

Thank you, Kevin, for everything you’ve created and contributed over the past 25 years. It’s a privilege to carry the Guide forward.

Sometimes you stumble across something that finally gives a name to an idea you’ve been carrying for years.

Discovering the co-operative coworking space in Melbourne took me straight back to 2014, when I was trying to build a space that felt genuinely owned, shaped and supported by its community.

I didn’t have the right words for it then - but perhaps I was looking for a co-op all along.

This is a little story about coworking, community, what didn’t quite work… and how that original vision eventually led me to Sage Room Co-op.

While we were away on the retreat, I was experimenting with 'cathedral thinking', which is the idea that placing yourself in a large open space can help your brain shift into a more strategic mindset (opposed to smaller spaces, which can be great for focus and productivity).

This casual role is approximately 10 hours per week, with flexibility around school hours, and would suit someone who’s organised, enjoys plenty of variety and gets real satisfaction from bringing order to scattered information.
