Photos capturing the atmosphere at the inaugural Fanuli Art Forum, an informative and engaging workshop that touched on the history of Aboriginal art and proved an insight into the artists and techniques employed to create such beautiful work.

Lorna Fencer Napurrulla's beautiful Yam Dreaming - (no relation to Mitjili Napurrulla below) adorns the timber slat walls at Fanuli's Sydney showroom. Complimented by a contemporary dining table setting and large leather occasional chair, the subtle tones of the painting work in well with matt and gloss qualities of the furniture to create a truly elegant impression.

I have just installed this wonderful Mitjili Napurrulla painting into a client's bedroom, overlooking the beach at Manly, NSW. Previously the room had a number of framed pictures and water colours, in reds and browns. The installation of this bold indigenous piece has really reinvigorated the room, bringing with it a contemporary, crisp and young feeling.

The perfect marriage of contemporary architecture with the world's oldest living culture - here Kudditji's blazing sunny Mina Mina brings a beautiful energy to this elegant minimal space, bathed in the morning sunrise and the afternoon sunset, via a dramatic triple height light void. Wow wow wow!!

Moody and interesting! Porters paint colour Drumbeat forms the backdrop for this finely painted "Tingari" piece by Walala Tjapaltjarri. The only indigenous piece of art on this wall, it certainly ties in with its assembled neighbours given its rectilinear shapes and contrasting black and white palette.

Nestled in a home at Church Point on Sydney's Northern Peninsular, this stunning pastel toned Minnie Pwerle painting sits beautifully on a tongue and groove wall, accompanied either side by more traditional landscape and still life works. The collection of bold blue and white antique Chinese porcelain brings a freshness to the scene.

I recently spoke about Aboriginal Art at a Pink Ribbon Fund raising morning tea hosted by a friend of mine. With about 20 beautiful artworks as props, it was a thrill to be able to convey my understanding of and passion for Aboriginal art and its relevance in contemporary Australian interiors. As a result of the morning tea, I sold this beautiful Kudditji Kngwarreye painting to a keen art collector and honoured my pledge to donate 10% of the sale price to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
