2026 Australia Day Award – Community Event of the Year Nomination
I am delighted to advise that the Opera on High has been nominated for the above award and I would like to offer my congratulations.
On 25 April 2025, Mansfield’s main street came alive for an open-air concert bringing together families, friends, and visitors to enjoy local wine, craft brews, gourmet food, and world-class performances by BravOz Opera which captivated everyone. This free event, hosted by Mansfield Winemakers, provided an opportunity for all attendees to enjoy world class talent whilst enjoying food, conversation and a sense of connection. The event showcased not just incredible talent, but also the passion and generosity of Mansfield’s local producers, winemakers, and volunteers who made it all possible. Together, this resulted in a magical and inclusive evening that attendees described as “uplifting” and “pure Mansfield”.
On behalf of my fellow Councillors, I invite you to attend our Australia Day Celebrations to be held at the Botanic Park, Mansfield commencing at 8.30am on Monday, 26 January 2026 when the award winners will be announced.

A big thank you to the community for coming along and celebrating Opera on High yesterday. The rain stayed away, and the sun was shining on a beautiful setting amongst the autumnal colors along the median reserve in High Street, Mansfield.
A huge thank you to group comprising of Tenor Blake Fischer, Baritone Andrew Jones and soprano Michaela Hodgson. They enthralled the gathering with their beautiful voices and carefully crafted renditions from opera, musical theater, Disney and pop.
Thank you to all the stall participants, Rolf Koren for his expert sound/pa management, the Mansfield Shire Council and Nick Theodossi Prestige Cars Susan Kinloch Events for their support in staging the day.

STOP SAYING IT IS GOING TO RAIN ON FRIDAY BECAUSE IT IS NOT. It is forecast to be sunny and 17 degrees so please come along to the Mansfield Winemakers - Food & Wine Partners Opera on High from 12 noon onwards. There will be wine, gin, beer, cider, picnic packs from The Kitchen Door and The Mansfield Regional Produce Store, as well as pizzas from Kylie and Sarah from Flaming Pizzas Mansfield, cheese from Little Cedar Farm. Bring cash and buy a taster glass to enable you to taste as many wines or purchase a full glass/bottle. Enjoy beautiful music, wines, food and the ambience of Mansfield in the High Country.

Just a reminder that the Opera on High event is fast approaching - to be held on Anzac Day Friday 25th April from 12 noon to 4.30 pm. Please go online and book - www.trybooking.com/1351636. Do take the opportunity also to book your picnic lunch pack from The Kitchen Door (chef Megan Knapp) and / or The Produce Store - see links on the flier.
There will be limited seating spread around the median reserve - you are welcome to being your own picnic chair. If it rains, bring your poncho - (No dogs please).
We will have local wine from Delatite Winery Ros Ritchie Wines, St Winifred's, Mount Terrible Wines Altitude221 and Sassy Sister Liqueur; Gin from Swiftcrest; Beer from On Point Brewery; Cider from Cheeky Rascal Cider; Plated food from The Kitchen Door, The Proddy Store, Flaming Pizzas Mansfield; Coffee from Crescent Moon Coffee; and of course, Ice-cream and face painting for the kids.
Tell your friends and do come along as it promises to be a great afternoon with Soprano Michaela Hodgson, Tenor Blake Fischer and Baritone Andrew Jones.
