2021 Ironscraper - A Barossa Shiarz with class 🍷

"Some super smart oak handling on this Barossa Shiraz allows the fruit to shine. And it’s some lovely fruit. Aromas cover the spectrum from violet, briar and bush scents through to a core of black berries, cherry, lifted nicely by black pepper and gentle spice.

There’s a warmth and a richness, sure, but also on display is a peppery element that brings a brightness, a fresh zip to the wine.

To taste, plum and black fruits shine, spice too, with background violet, sage. The spice is particularly enticing. Texture is inviting and smooth. A Barossa Shiraz with class.." - Jeni Port, Wine Pilot

We like to think of Grenache as the 'Party Vines' 🕺🪩

Grenache is always the first to burst into the new season at Hare's Chase, and the last to drop leaf to tuck itself into bed. The younger the Grenache the harder they like to party! Our three year old Grenache vines are still holding green leaf well into June!

An inherent trait of our beloved hares who stay vigilant and responsive to their surroundings, we take inspiration from this intuition and adaptability in our approach to grapegrowing and winemaking.

Consideration and creativity sit alongside each other to produce this velvety, deeply concentrated Shiraz.

We've got some new varietals growing in the Hare's Chase vineyard.

Aglianico is often referred to as the "Barolo of Southern Italy", known to be structured and full bodied with an intese flavour profile of black fruits, think black cherries and plums.

It's still a couple of years off production, but we're already thinking ahead to vintage 2028! 🍷

2022 'Hare and Hound' Cabernet Shiraz

Drawing it's name from the saying ‘to run with the hare and hunt with the hounds’, we know that finding balance is essential in all we do. Responsive and adaptable, we lean into the elements working with what nature provides.

In this pursuit we run with the agility of the hare and hunt with the determination of the hound.

Cabernet and Shiraz each bring unique elements to this wine. It’s the interplay between the two that creates a wine that’s balanced and bold, earthy and fruit-forward. A full-bodied expression of what has become known as the Great Australian blend.
