Career Highlight!

I am honoured to be the recipient of the Sake Sommeliers Association, Sake Ambassador Award 2023 / 2024. 🏅
My 25 year journey as a Sake Professional has involved pretty much every facet of the industry. From venue owner, event organiser, educator, importer, consultant and sake brewer, I have been fortunate enough to see the industry from every angle. 😏 🍶
I am proud of what I have achieved so far in laying down the foundations of sake appreciation in Australia. 🇦🇺
It has been rewarding enough to see others I have inspired forge their own path in the promotion of sake in our country, but it is always nice to receive the recognition of your peers for a job well done! :-) 🏆 🙏

Ever since I lived in the UK for a year when I was younger I fell deeply in love with the English countryside. 🌳🌳🌳

This appreciation was deepened sharing country walks with my Uncle. He knew all the great places to walk in Dorset and especially the Isle of Purbeck. We would ramble down country lanes, wander across hilltops and fields and follow hedgerows through the verdant green landscape.

The older I get the stronger the pull to spend more time exploring the British country and coastlines. I picked this old Dorset walks book up in an op shop for 50p. 📖

I sit in the front of the fire dreaming of future walks on future trips to the UK. 🔥

The experience is completed with sipping on a recently unearthed bottle of Glenlivet my Uncle found at the back of the pantry. We worked out it was last sipped from by my father when he was alive. 🥃

Moments like this are very special. 😊

Picked up two lovely goose eggs from .keating_butchers in Wimborne. 🪿
The Burford Brown eggs (Maran Cuivree hens) are for size comparison. 🥚🥚🥚

Used them to make an omelette that I topped with Organic Sea Salad flakes from the company.

Ever since seeing a demonstration on how seaweed could be carefully managed as a food source in Adelaide many years ago I have been interested in how this industry may develop.

Watching series about Cornwall gave inspiration to source some ingredients from this stunning part of England while I am still here! 📺🤓

Love locks on the River Seine.

Their initials scribed on the lock and the keys tossed into the river, a couple's hope is that their love will be forever locked.

I wish them all well.
