The Champagne Hippy is not a moniker but a descriptor which came about in jest with my aromatherapy teacher and stuck. I began a journey of health which, over time, has become largely all encompassing and moved into environmental awareness and low tox aspirations. I quickly found that I was considered a "massive hippy" by associates in the luxe fields we work and associate in but a bit of a light
weight to those who were fully committed to the "hippy" lifestyle. I don't feel that my journey has led me to fully deny certain aspects of the luxury lifestyle but believe that we can live socially, environmentally, toxically & healthily conscious lives while still enjoying the champagne life. I am a burgeoning Aromatherapist who lives an inner-city lifestyle which fully embraces clay products and champagne.

The Champagne Hippy advocates the responsible use of pure essential oils: accordingly, we recommend that you avoid oral use/ingesting pure essential oils without seeking professional advice beforehand. The simple fact of the matter is that essentials oils should only be prescribed for oral use in a clinical setting, by a suitably qualified practitioner. The practitioner will take into account your medical history, current medications and ascertain whether there are contraindications before they consider prescribing essential oils for oral ingestion. According to the International Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine Association (IAAMA), the leading independent non-profit professional association for aromatherapy practitioners, a qualified practitioner for the purposes of promoting the use of therapeutic doses of essential oils for internal ingestion is; ‘a practising Aromatherapist with an Advanced Diploma in Aromatic Medicine, other ingestive modality with training in essential oils or medical qualification and holds an insurance policy which specifically covers the internal ingestion and internal application of essential oils’*
