Today I had the chance to catch up with some of our awesome Sunshine Coast-based AWIC Awards winners, Dr Brenda Jamnik founder of ORG-CD, Jess Knot from Coast2Bay Housing Group and Angela Dähn from Wolter Consulting Group!

It was great to get to know each other, and talk about construction and the different sectors we work across.

The diversity of Brenda’s assignments range from providing advice and recommendations on community initiatives as member of advisory councils to the Ministers for Business and Women; assessing the reason for global fragmentation and providing recommendations to the United Nations and being invited to speak and build business capacity nationally and internationally (Asia, Europe, Japan, America, South America) on Leadership and Leadership development. She has supported businesses ranging from start up with one person to building high performance teams on billion dollar infrastructure projects.
In a voluntary capacity Brenda mentors five Australian Business owners, 15 PNG Entrepreneurs as well as University students and is the Deputy Chair of Australian Institute of Company Directors (Sunshine Coast)
Holding a Doctorate Business Leadership and a Master of Education Studies ,Brenda was also a Finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards, the Institute of Managers and Leaders Awards and the Sunshine Coast Business Awards.
She is a published Author, a Nationally accredited Mediator and an international key note speaker. Brenda is recognised in Stanford’s Who’s Who Registry of Executive Professionals and Entrepreneurs

As extreme heat conditions sweep the state this week, it's important to be prepared, pay attention to your health, and look out for neighbours and loved ones.

Remember to:
➡️ Drink lots of cool water throughout the day
➡️ Stay inside if you can, preferably in a building with air conditioning or good air flow
➡️ Slip, slop, slap, seek and slide if you're going to spend time outside
➡️ Avoid strenuous exercise
➡️ Check in on the elderly, pregnant women, small children and pets
➡️ Never leave anyone inside a hot vehicle
➡️ Seek medical advice if you develop heat rash, muscle cramps, heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, vomiting or fainting.
