Yesterday morning, our Women for Women Breakfast brought together a room of women who showed up curious, open and ready to listen.

We were joined by Cornelia Camacho, a valued WforW alumna, whose career has spanned private banking, technology, software development, consulting and small business management — and now into supporting bilateral trade and commercial relationships between German and Australian businesses with the German Australia Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

What stood out was the thread running through her story: a career that kept shifting, and a professional who kept growing with it.

Cornelia shared the key moments that shaped her path, the thinking behind her career pivots, and timely insights into the European-Australian Free Trade Agreement, including what it could mean for businesses on both sides.

Her advice was practical and memorable:

Focus on the customer. Build partnerships where both sides contribute. Find a mentor. Step into the challenge. Listen well. Speak up. Build genuine, collaborative relationships.

Thank you to Cornelia, and all who joined us yesterday morning.

The future of work in manufacturing is not just about replacing tasks. It is about rethinking capability.

It was great to be at Hannover Messe last week catching up with clients, industry friends and business leaders for real conversations about what is on their minds right now.

I saw AI and robotics applied in very practical ways. Such as, quality inspection, predictive maintenance, production planning, virtual commissioning, and competency building. These are not abstract ideas. They are already shaping how manufacturing businesses design, plan, maintain and train.

For German mid-sized businesses, this is both an opportunity and a leadership challenge. Many have deep technical expertise and highly specialised people. The opportunity is to use AI to capture and scale that know-how. Not dilute it.

But this requires more than system implementation. It requires leaders who can bring people with them, reduce fear, build trust in new ways of working and create the conditions for learning.

The future of work will not be shaped by technology alone. It will be shaped by the quality of the conversations leaders are having now. About capability, change and what their people need next.

Taking the opportunity to grow through community is the most important career investment you can make.

Our aim has always been to build a rich community of genuine women leaders. To ensure we are truly meeting your current needs, we are shifting our focus. While we previously promoted our full programme, we are now running select, curated parts of the WforW program to better evolve alongside you.

We’re kicking things off with one of our favorite ways to connect: a WforW Breakfast Session on the 7th of May.

Whether you are a senior executive or an evolving professional looking to develop your influence, this is your space to find a supportive network and professional inspiration.
