Meet Emma. Emma's entire outfit was bought at Re Place because she knows that buying preloved clothes from us is good for the planet and good for her pocket. Her entire outfit was just $25 with the singlet costing $5, the pants $10 and the stunning lacy cardi also $10. You look amaaaaaazing Emma ๐Ÿ˜

Emma is one of our many return customers who loves dropping by on a Saturday between 11am and 3pm to browse the 800+ new items of clothing that come in each week.

We LOVE our return customers, but do you know what we also love (and really need ๐Ÿ˜…)? NEW customers who discover Re Place for the first time and are excited to find high quality clothes for under $20 as well as knowing that every purchase is weighed so they can be told how many kilos of clothes they've diverted from landfill.

Alongside our lost cost/high quality clothing we also have a huge amount of items that we give away for free each week including kids and babies clothes, active wear and shoes.

Drop by this Saturday to Re Place at the Sustainability Hub at 7 Prospect Rd, Summer Hill between 11am and 3pm and come say hi!

We are a 5 min walk from buses, 10 min walk from trains and a 15 min walk to light rail. We're also doggo friendly and have accessible parking, changeroom and bathrooms.

Dear Humans of Newtown.... I need YOUR HELP! (please read to the end).

On Tuesday 10 May, I'll be joining a number of brave locals sleeping out at Newtown Square as part of Newtown Neighbourhood Centre's to raise vital funds for vulnerable people in our local community.

I'm sure everyone is aware of the recent tragic fire that occurred at the Albermarle St Boarding House. NNC immediately took action helping those displaced by the fire. Did you know that the surviving residents were sometimes waiting outside NNC's door for them to open as this was their place of security and support? This is what an incredible organisation like NNC means to so many at risk in our neighbourhood.

I'm asking of you THREE THINGS...
1. Please like and share this post to help get the word out there (this one's free and takes literally one second!).
2. If you're in a position and have a few spare dollars, please support me by donating here:
https://www.newtopiansleepout.org/humansofnewtown (this one costs as much as you're able to donate and also takes virtually no time at all!)
3. We have a small number of places left at the Sleepout so consider signing up yourself for this very worthy cause. (This one is free, takes a bit more time but imagine how good you'll feel joining our community for this great fundraiser!?). You can register at the same website above.

Thank you so much for your support. xx

The recent tragic event at the boarding house on Albermarle Street in Newtown, has shocked and devastated our community. So many people have kindly offered support to help the surviving residents. Newtown Neighbourhood Centre has launched an appeal for those who may be in a position to donate funds:

https://supportboardinghouseresidents.raisely.com/.

All money raised will be used to directly support the displaced boarding house residents to help reestablish their lives. We know that the past few years have also been difficult on many people within our community so, if you're not in a position to donate, sharing this post/link to your networks can help raise awareness and hopefully inspire others to donate as well. Thank you.

These t-shirts were going to be packed into boxes to take to the on Sunday but that market has been (wisely) cancelled.

If anyone feels like buying some of my tโ€™s & totes over the next week, Iโ€™ll donate 25% to help people who have been affected by the flooding. All purchases until March 20th www.wellspotted.com.au

I donโ€™t know what else i can do! Itโ€™s just so devastating...

Attention residents in residential strata building across the Inner West: We need your help driving new, large scale installation of solar on your homes, - hereโ€™s how you can help make it happen.

Weโ€™ve formed a partnership with Wattblock, specialist consultants based at UNSW providing sustainability advice to multi-tenanted strata buildings. Wattblock is delivering a program identifying high solar potential strata apartments and townhouses within the Inner West.

An initial assessment by Wattblock has identified 227 residential strata buildings across the local government area where the available rooftop space and layout of the building lends itself to solar installation and through which the financial and emissions reduction benefits would be substantial.

We are systematically working through contacting and recruiting those strata buildings to the program but the truth is that the residents of every residential strata building could benefit from solar installation right now.

Because the strata laws are very bureaucratic, we need help from residents in apartments and town houses to push from the grassroots level and to ask your strata to committee or executive to get Wattblock out for a consultation and solar assessment.

What we need now is for you to get involved. There are so many more apartment complexes that could benefit from cost-effective solar energy. Please contact www.wattblock.com to find out how your strata committee can tap into clean, green energy.

Great initiative by the Inner West Multicultural Network and the Addison Road Community Organisation to get these anti racist signs put up around the hood. Supported by the Inner West Council and Councillor Pauline Lockie - Inner West Council. This one in on King Street but there's more right throughout the local government area.
