A long article but a good one.

It highlights a few key challenges today for tax payers and why it’s even more critical that you seek professional help.

- Employee vs Contractors : it’s getting harder and harder to have your cake and eat it to.

- Inspector-General of Taxation, Ali Noroozi ...... estimates the tax office gets about one in 20 cases wrong.

- Guilty until proven innocent ..... sounds unfair, but the ATO has this power

- Ouch ..... The ATO was wrong, but didn’t need to pay the defence costs of the tax payer.
