Our tasting room is open 7 days (excluding Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day) from 11am – 5pm. Relax on the deck, immerse yourself in a personalised guided Tasting Experience and take in unparalleled views of our vineyards and beyond to the sea. With a large open lawn area to enjoy in spring and summer, and heating on the deck for autumn and winter, it’s always a perfect time to visit us.

Our Tasting Experiences are conducted seated at your own individual table. To ensure we can accommodate you and your companions, bookings are essential, and groups are capped at a maximum of six people. If you are looking to experience the beautiful natural bushland of McLaren Vale at your own relaxed pace, you can pick up a local produce picnic pack and bottle of wine at our Tasting Room to enjoy within the Gemtree Eco Trail, a haven for frogs, birds & animals with six interlinking dams and 50,000 native trees planted over 10 hectares.. Here you can explore the restored native landscape, relax in the wide-open spaces and use the BBQ facilities and playground. Winegrowers for more than 30 years, Gemtree Wines now own 332 acres of biodynamic and certified organic vineyards in McLaren Vale and have been awarded 5 stars Winery recognition by James Halliday since 2009.

Due to the extraordinarily difficult wine industry challenges at present, we have made the tough decision to close the Gemtree Tasting Room.

Our wines are still available to purchase on our website and at your local retailer.

Last week we kicked off with Tempranillo fruit for our Luna de Fresa Rosé 🍇

Our 2025 vintage – a blend of Tempranillo, Mataro and Grenache – shows subtle aromas of pink grapefruit, watermelon and fresh strawberry, with underlying spice of cinnamon and clove. Berry fruits and blood orange, together with fine natural tannins provide a soft, juicy palate with a delightful savoury character.

We’re eager to see what the 2026 vintage of this wine will bring 🙌

Vintage: it’s a wonderful time to be in the regions.

McLaren Vale is flowing with activity as kicks off. It’s a great opportunity for people visiting to reconnect with their favourite cellar doors, and try somewhere new.

We’re looking forward to seeing what this season will bring for our wines at Gemtree 🍇 come by our Tasting Room and get amongst the excitement.

GSM is a blend we love to make and drink at Gemtree. It’s a delicious, versatile wine that can be enjoyed with many food styles, or simply on its own amongst good conversation.

Our 2024 Cinnabar GSM is a blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro, a bright and lively wine bursting with delicious cherry and plum flavours.

“This is such a lovely weight and so buoyantly bright, but not remotely simple. There’s lots of detail – red fruits and black, savoury accents, dark earthy notes, iron and bay, fennel seed, cacao nibs – but all so poised and effortless, nothing outshining.
