Coriole Vineyards Visit Coriole Vineyards' Cellar Door in McLaren Vale, or dine in our restaurant for lunch. Coriole was founded by Hugh and Molly Lloyd in 1967.

The Estate is still owned by the Lloyd family and is now managed by Mark and Paul Lloyd. The Estate is situated in the undulating hills of the densely planted McLaren Vale region just within sight of the sea and less than an hour from Adelaide. The original farmhouses were built in 1860 and are now the epicentre of the garden and cellar door at the winery. The original vineyards were planted in 1919. Shiraz is the great tradition of McLaren Vale going back over 150 years, and is the major variety planted on the estate. Coriole has been an Australian pioneer of Sangiovese and Italian varieties since 1985.

Some very wet weather has caused a few temporary waterways around Coriole! The olive grove river is flowing and the bush vine grenache stream is running through our Stonewall vineyard.

For over 20 years, a lineup of w**e bottles featuring beautifully painted labels has sat on a high shelf behind the Coriole cellar door tasting bench. The labels were hand painted by South Australian artist Tom Gleghorn, who had a long and prolific career. Over the last couple of years we have bottled a few exclusive cellar door only w**es with reproductions of Tom’s paintings. For a limited time, we have a Gleghorn tasting line up in cellar door!
