Is your baby suddenly waking more frequently overnight or is challenging to resettle after a fed? Temperature could be the cause ❄️!

Babies who are too cold often wake more frequently because their bodies are working harder to stay warm. Instead of settling into deep, restorative sleep, they drift in and out — calling for you more often.

Some signs your baby might be cold at night:
• Waking more than usual / shorter sleep cycles
• Cool chest or back (hands, feet and face don’t count!)
• Settling quickly when held (your body heat helps regulate them)

A good rule of thumb: dress your baby in one more layer than you’re comfortable in. Aim for a room temperature of 19-22 degrees Celsius and always take the temperature from mattress level. When checking their body temperature - pop your hand down their back or onto their chest. You want it to feel toasty warm (lukewarm doesn’t cut it!).

Before assuming it’s a “regression” always check the basics — temperature plays a bigger role in sleep than most parents realise.
