I’ve been quiet on social media for a while. Not because the work paused, but because I’ve been deep in projects, and focusing on moving with intention instead of momentum. Posting here hasn’t felt useful. I've been leaning on a quieter kind of philosophy: pause when you can, focus your energy where it matters, move only when the timing is right.

The 3 Rs:
• Rest - space from unnecessary struggle
• Re-evaluate - what deserves my effort, and what’s just resistance with no reward
• Re-enter - with control, with intention, and only when the opening is truly there

Stepping back isn’t retreat; it’s creating the space to act with intention.

So, if you’ve also been choosing your focus more deliberately lately, here’s your reminder: You don’t need to show up everywhere. You just need to show up where the leverage is. The value of consistency lies in showing up where it truly matters.

What are you choosing to re-enter with intention?

Collaboration, when done right, is transformative. It’s about showing up with intention, bringing your best, and creating something meaningful together.

To the people I’m lucky enough to work with - who inspire growth, spark ideas, and make every project feel like more than just work...thank you. Working with you is rewarding in ways that go far beyond the deliverables. 💛

Over the weekend, we needed to duck to Bunnings - just a valve to fix something on the hot water system.

My husband asked the kids if they wanted to come.

Their response?

"Can we get a sausage??!"

Not “Yay, plumbing supplies!”
Not “Family adventure, let’s go!”
Just one burning question: "Is there a SNAG in it for us?"

Once we said yes, they were in. Shoes on. In the car. Ready to roll.

And it got me thinking…

You’ve heard the phrase: “Don’t sell the sausage, sell the sizzle.”

But in this case?
The sausage was the sizzle.

It wasn’t about the product (plumbing supplies or a trip to Bunnings). It was about what they cared about. The experience. The sausage. The thing that made it worth saying yes.

Same goes for your audience.

Don’t just promote what you do - plumbing valves, strategies, or services.
Speak to what matters to them.
Make them feel something. Show them what’s in it for them. Let them smell the BBQ from across the carpark.

Because when the motivation is right, they’re already buckled up and ready to go 🔥

Jet and I swapped the home office for the great outdoors, sandy beaches, road trips, long walks, and zero to-do lists.
It was exactly the reset we’d been craving for a while.
We’re back now - grateful, grounded, and (slowly) getting back into work mode.
Thanks for your patience while the office duo catches up 🐾

You’re promised ease and progress… but end up more overwhelmed than ever. Still managing everything, still feeling like no one really gets what you’re trying to build.

Because not all support is created equal. Sometimes it's just box-ticking.
No real understanding. No strategic thinking. No care.
You’re treated like a task list instead of a leader with a vision.

That’s not what you signed up for.

You don’t need someone to just do what’s asked.
You need someone who gets it - who works with you like your right-hand, not just your assistant.

Let this be your reminder:
You’re allowed to expect more.

I was told that doing well meant I had to be more cutthroat, focus only on the money, and treat every interaction like a transaction. "Don’t waste time on anything that doesn’t pay."
Honestly though? That approach never sat right with me.

From the very beginning, I’ve believed that connection and trust are the foundation of any meaningful business. It’s not just about the money - it’s about the relationships you build along the way.

Sure, I don't have a full client roster yet, but I’ve always known I’d rather grow slowly and intentionally than sacrifice trust and integrity for a quick win. The best opportunities I’ve had didn’t come from being transactional. They came from being intentional. From building real relationships, staying true to my values, and focusing on the long game instead of the quick payoff.

Yes, making money matters (a lot!). But if it comes at the cost of your integrity, your relationships, or your joy - what’s the point?

So, here’s my advice: Don’t just chase the money. Build something that matters.

How often do you stop to celebrate your own progress? 🤔

It’s easy to get caught in the cycle of always striving for more, raising the bar higher, and pushing forward -especially when things feel tough. But what if the key to lasting growth lies in looking back just as much as looking ahead?

Research in growth mindset shows that celebrating small wins helps build resilience, increases motivation, and reminds us of the strength we’ve already developed. 📈✨

Next time you’re feeling like you haven’t made enough progress, take a moment to reflect. What have you achieved recently that deserves recognition? 🏆 What challenges have you overcome that prove just how far you've come? You don’t have to wait until everything is "perfect" to acknowledge your efforts. It’s about recognising growth, no matter how small it may seem.

Celebrating your achievements is not only good for the soul, it’s what fuels your next big step forward. 🌱💪

🌟 Level Up Your Business by Letting Go!

Here we are - well and truly into the new year. It's common at this time to be thinking about adding new goals. But what about the habits that are holding us back?

This year, let’s shift our focus from adding to subtracting – specifically, subtracting the bad habits that stop us from reaching the next level.

Running a small business means wearing many hats and juggling countless tasks. It’s easy to get overwhelmed. Here are some bad habits to kick to the curb, making space for your business to thrive:

📞 Procrastinating on Phone Calls – Stay proactive and maintain strong communication with clients and partners.

🕰️ Chronic Lateness – Respect your time and others', it reflects your professionalism.

🔄 Infrequent Updates to Your Website – Keep your digital storefront inviting and current.

🗂️ Ignoring Paperwork – Streamline your processes to avoid bottlenecks that can slow you down.

📈 Poor Follow-Up – Whether it's invoices, queries, or opportunities, staying on top of follow-ups is crucial.

💬 Over Talking, Under Listening – Enhance your relationships and understand your clients' needs by listening more.

🖥️ Wasting Time Online – Use the internet strategically, not just to scroll endlessly.

🚘 Underestimating Travel Time – Plan ahead to avoid the stress and unprofessionalism of last-minute rushes.

💸 Neglecting Financial Duties – Keep on top of your bills and receivables to maintain healthy cash flow.

As small business owners, it's time to shed the weight of unproductive habits and make room for growth and success. What habit are you committed to changing this year to help your business soar?
