💚 A milestone made possible by the Newcastle community! The Newcastle Container Return, depot in Carrington has officially reached an incredible milestone, with 100 million drink containers returned since opening in 2019.

This achievement belongs to the thousands of local residents, schools, sporting clubs, businesses and community groups who have made recycling part of their everyday routine. It's also a reflection of the strong support shown by local organisations, including The Smith Family, Little Wings, and Newcastle Mens Shed Inc, who joined the celebration.

Behind every container returned is a positive impact for our environment and our community, from reducing litter and conserving resources to helping support charities and local causes.

🎉 Cheers to Blacktown Container Return!
We’ve recently celebrated with Sell&Parker 200 million bottles, cans and cartons through the Blacktown Container Return Depot since it opened in 2018. ♻️

That's 200 million containers kept out of landfill and given a second life through recycling.

Thanks to the support of local residents, businesses, schools, charities and community groups, this milestone has delivered some incredible environmental benefits, including:
♻️ Energy savings equivalent to powering over 2,730 households for a year.
♻️ Water conservation equal to filling 469 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
♻️ Carbon dioxide emissions reduction equivalent with taking over 14,500 cars off the road for a year.

Every container returned makes a difference, and this achievement belongs to everyone who has chosen to recycle and earn a refund over the years.

♻️ Exciting news for Return and Earn users in Penrith and the lower Blue Mountains!

The Penrith Return and Earn Depot has officially moved to its new home in Emu Plains, making it even easier for residents to return bulk containers and earn refunds while helping the environment.

The new purpose-built drive-through depot offers a more convenient experience for customers and continues the great work of supporting local communities through its operation by Vinnies NSW.

We were proud to celebrate this milestone alongside community leaders, partners and local organisations, with a special Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony led by Aunty Cino and Uncle Mark.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to mark the occasion. We're excited to see the new depot continue making recycling simple, rewarding and accessible for the community.

Nat, our network manager in the North of Tasmania, recently completed a multi-day visit to King Island focused on stakeholder engagement and supporting local operations, alongside James from Recycle Rewards. The visit provided an opportunity to connect with key community, business and industry stakeholders, engage with local media through King Island Radio, and strengthen relationships with partners involved in service delivery across the island. General Manager Tony Catania and Network Development & Compliance Manager Anna Wells travelled across Victoria’s West Zone to connect with some of our fantastic refund point operator partners.

From Beaufort, St Arnaud, Murtoa and Warracknabeal to Dimboola, Horsham, Casterton and Coleraine, the visit highlighted the invaluable role local businesses, community organisations and volunteers play in the success of Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme.

💚 Seeing the Dimboola Lions Club turn container refunds into $14,000 in community grants
♻️ Visiting the innovative AXIS Worx recycling depot in Horsham
🎉 Celebrating IGA Coleraine reaching the incredible milestone of one million containers returned through its reverse vending machine
