Rewinding to 1 May 2025, when the Recycle Rewards reverse vending machine at Elphin Sports Centre in City Of Launceston was installed and ready to welcome Tasmania's container refund scheme from day one. Located at 14-16 Dowling Street, the site gives locals an easy way to return eligible drink containers and earn their 10 cent refund, all while helping keep Northern Tasmania cleaner and greener. The refund point sits at one of Launceston's premier indoor sporting hubs, home to basketball, badminton, table tennis, futsal and a wide range of community events. Here's a timelapse of the installation that helped bring Recycle Rewards to the heart of the Launceston community.

♻️ Every community is different, and that means recycling solutions should be too.
At the REROC Innovation in Energy, Waste and Circular Economy Conference in Wagga Wagga, TOMRA Cleanaway joined councils, community organisations and industry partners to explore how innovation can help strengthen regional and remote communities.
From local partnerships to tailored container deposit scheme solutions, the conversations reinforced an important lesson: there is no one size fits all approach to building a successful circular economy or recycling network.
A big thank you to everyone who shared their experiences, challenges and ideas. We're excited to continue working together to make recycling more accessible and rewarding for communities across NSW, Victoria and Tasmania.

We're proud to support our Victorian General Manager, Tony Catania as he takes part in the OzHarvest CEO CookOff Melbourne on Thursday 22 October, raising vital funds and awareness for Australians facing food insecurity.

Earlier this year, while OzHarvest was the featured Donation Partner across our CDS Vic West Zone network, Tony joined members of the TOMRA Cleanaway and TOMRA Collection Australia teams for an afternoon of volunteering with OzHarvest. Working alongside the OzHarvest team to prepare meals for people in need provided a powerful firsthand look at the impact of their work and the critical support they provide to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across Australia.

Tony is now stepping up to support OzHarvest's mission through the CEO CookOff, helping to raise crucial funds that enable the organisation to continue rescuing quality surplus food and delivering it to those who need it most.

We're proud to support Tony's fundraising efforts and encourage our network to get behind this important cause!

The Dover Community Workshop which operates the Recycle Rewards refund point in Dover Tasmania, has donated $500 to the Dover Devils Junior Soccer Club. The donation will help support local junior players.

As the operators of Australia's most southerly container refund point, the Dover team has helped the community return more than 545,000 eligible drink containers while creating benefits that extend well beyond recycling.
Their latest contribution to the Dover Devils demonstrates how local refund points can support grassroots organisations and strengthen community connections.
