Close the Loop Group

Close the Loop Group End-to-end solutions for packaging and hard to recycle commodities.

We help clients organise take-back programs for print consumables, cosmetics, e-waste and flexible packaging that is then reused into new products. With locations across Australia, Europe and the United States, Close the Loop Group create innovative products and packaging that includes recyclable and made-from recycled content, as well as collect, sort, reclaim and reuse resources that would other

wise go to landfill. From recovering print consumables, eyewear, cosmetics, and phone cases, through-to the reusing of toner and post-consumer soft plastics for asphalt additive, we’re focused on the future, sustainability, and the circular economy.

We recently celebrated the first anniversary of Circular Planet—our multi-branded cartridge collection program running in Europe.

In its first year, the initiative collected 2,657,095 print consumables, with nearly 40% returned to the original manufacturers for reuse- all resources diverted from landfill.

This achievement highlights the growing success of a closed-loop system, where print consumables are collected, cleaned, refilled, and reused as much as possible. By extending product lifecycles, we’re driving significant CO₂ reduction and advancing sustainable product stewardship.

The commitment and collaboration of so many major brands is what drives successful stewardship as with the print industry, and allows us to move towards a more circular future- we can't wait to see more industries take note!

Circular Planet is currently working across Benelux, Germany, Spain and the UK, with Italy to join the program in January.

As the biggest consumer spending time of the year approaches, it's good to take stock of the impact we're having in one of the largest growing industries- Cosmetics.

Despite the popularity of category, these products can be problematic when it comes to disposal, with most products around the globe ending up in landfill.

Retailers and beauty brands like Estee Lauder are taking charge to make change- and Close the Loop are helping them do it!

According to The World Counts, we generate approximately 50 million tonnes of e-waste every year—that’s like throwing out 1,000 laptops every single second.

This recycling week, you can make a difference in reducing e-waste through a variety of avenues:

1. Buy Refurbished
2. Drop-off your e-waste
3. Recycle your batteries and cartridges

Close the Loop all year round.

A Spotlight on Thermal Receipt Rolls & BPA- While health concerns surrounding thermal receipt rolls have been publicised again recently, many people are still unaware that Bisphenol A (commonly known as BPA) continues to be used in many receipt roll products on the market. Some cheaper imported products are continuing to utilise BPA, despite the chemical being phased-out of many other consumer goods due to perceived health risks, which is a legitimate concern for retailers that are utilising these products in their supply chain.

The rolls that we manufacture in Australia through Sustain Paper & Packaging are BPA-free, proving that there are better solutions available in the market that focus on higher standards for consumer health- more can be found here: https://loom.ly/K-S6A7A
