Steel Inspection Pre Pour. This particular waffle slab was approved by the Building Surveyor ready to pour. We were tasked to a Private Building Inspection of this important stage. Photos include pipes not penetrated through slab mesh and pipes not taped to membrane to resist moisture etc, reinforcement touching pipes and the ground (where you could not even get a pencil under. Steel Reinforcement is required to have a particular cover of concrete (or embedded in the concrete a required depth or distance) to ensure moisture does not enter and rust the steel causing concrete cancer. This potentially cracks the slab. All of these items are non compliant to the engineering documentation, NCC and Australian Standards. These photos are only a few issues detected on this job.

Pre Paint Private Inspection.
AS/NZS 2589-2007 states daubs of adhesive approximately 25mm in diameter by 15mm high shall be applied to the framing members at 300mm maximum centres. Only a matter of time before cracks will appear. Very poor workmanship.
