Meet the Panelists:
Prerana Mehta is the newly appointed CEO of FECCA. Prior to this she was the CEO of the Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA), where she led efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships and foster collaboration between research institutions, government, and the private sector in emerging growth areas. With extensive global experience, Prerana has developed strategic programs across government and private sector in the USA, Southeast Asia, India, and the Pacific.

Will Liang is the CEO of Amplify AI Group, a consulting firm which advises, builds and coaches AI for organisations. With over 18 years’ experience leading AI, data and technology, he was CTO for MA Asset Management, served as enterprise architect and CIO for Macquarie Capital Asia Pacific as part of a decade at Macquarie Group, and led KPMG’s national regulatory technology practice. His interest in data analytics and artificial intelligence has been long standing and includes travelling to Harvard for professional development in data and AI in 2019.

Hayley Zhu is a commercial leader in the fintech space. She brings over 20 years of experience across APAC, with more than 15 years focused on FinTech. Her leadership experience highlights include: leading go-to market strategy and pursuits across APAC, leading a high-performing partner sales team to generate over 5 million EUR annual partner sales revenue across 11 markets.

Introducing our Sydney panelist Prerana Mehta! Prerana is the newly appointed CEO of FECCA.
🎫 Register in BIO!

Prior to this she was the CEO of the Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA), where she led efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships and foster collaboration between research institutions, government, and the private sector in emerging growth areas. Previously, Prerana was Director of Strategic Partnerships at CSIRO, Australia’s National Science Agency, and Deputy CEO of AustCyber, Australia’s Cyber Security Growth Network. She also served as Minister Counsellor and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner in Singapore, promoting Australia’s trade and investment in the ASEAN region.

Prerana is a NED on the board of SisterWorks, a Victoria-based NGO empowering migrant, refugee, and asylum seeker women. She is also an NED on the board of Asia Society Australia, and provides advisory services to technology-based start-ups. Prerana is a member of AICD.

The ceiling isn’t always about what you know. Sometimes, it’s about who is willing to open the door.

Last Thursday, we brought together an incredible group of leaders and emerging leaders for The Ceiling at the Top — a conversation about sponsorship, visibility and what it really takes to help Asian talent move forward.

We heard honest stories from leaders who have sat in the rooms where talent is discussed, opportunities are decided and people are backed.

From mentorship to sponsorship, we explored what it means to actively advocate for someone, create opportunities and use your own influence to help others rise.

A big thank you to our speakers, partners and everyone who showed up, shared openly and contributed to the conversation.

The ceiling may still exist. But conversations like these are how we start breaking it.

Will is the CEO of Amplify AI Group, a consulting firm which advises, builds and coaches AI for organisations. With over 18 years’ experience leading AI, data and technology, he was CTO for MA Asset Management, served as enterprise architect and CIO for Macquarie Capital Asia Pacific as part of a decade at Macquarie Group, and led KPMG’s national regulatory technology practice. His interest in data analytics and artificial intelligence has been long standing and includes travelling to Harvard for professional development in data and AI in 2019.

He is recognised internationally for his technology leadership, including as a Top Voice on LinkedIn for Data Science and AI and was named as a Global Top 100 Data and Analytics leader by Corinium. He was also named the Top 100 CIO in Asia by CIO.com. In Australia, he was awarded an honorary fellowship at UTS for his work on AI education in 2024. Will is a sought after speaker and his most high profile keynote was at the TEDxSydney event on AI and humanity last year.
