Need a little wellbeing support or inspiration?

I’ve noticed so many friends and clients are feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, anxious or fatigued. It’s not a great place to be and can sometimes feel virtually impossible to overcome.

It has been such a common theme, I’ve almost made it standard practice to open every team workshop I run for clients with a focus on wellbeing.

I often do this by introducing the team to Dr Martin Seligman’s PERMA model. Seligman is a pioneer in the field of positive psychology. Through his research he identified 5 key ingredients in the secret sauce of happiness:

Positive emotion
Engagement
Relationships
Meaning
Achievements

If you’re curious or looking for some way to make a shift in your psychological wellbeing, you might enjoy exploring the PERMA model and other resources available on Seligman’s website.

1 in 5 Australians aged 16 - 85 experience a mental illness each year.

It's common.
It's treatable.
You don't need to face it alone.
Get help early.
* Seeing your Doctor is a really important step to help you get the support you need.
* Reach out to a trusted friend or colleague (me included!).
* If you have a Mental Health First Aider in your workplace, reach out to them.

I am so pleased I completed the Mental Health First Aid accreditation.

Why?
I wanted to make sure I can provide initial help to anyone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis, whether it be at work or in my personal life.

Whilst I have provided initial help on a number of occasions in the past, I knew I had so much more to learn and am really grateful for the insights, case studies, resources and steps I can take for a range of mental health conditions and crisis.

Although 1 in 5 people experience a mental illness each year. Not all get help. Reach out. You can recover.

💕 Have you ever experienced the “growth zone”?

I’ve been deeply immersed in growing, extending and propelling myself into new territory.

Who I’ve been and the roles I’ve played in the past, don’t define what is possible for me in the future.

The same is true for you.

As well as continuing to run my business I’ve stepped in as CEO for someone else’s business.

It’s the biggest role I’ve taken yet. It’s the challenge and growth I knew I needed.

Was I sure I was going to be able to do it?
No.
You see I’ve not done this role in an organisation like this before. I’ve run my own business with me and some referral partners.
I’ve led teams.

But I had no past reference for exactly this opportunity.

Was it easy for me to lean in, say yes and go for it?
No.
I had to tune into how I was feeling about the opportunity.

I had to confront feelings of doubt that I’ve experienced many times before when an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and into my growth zone has come along.

Those feelings are our brains way of sending signals of nerves - trying to keep us safe.

They show case the limiting beliefs we are holding on to and need to shake off.

In doing so we need to use our best strategies for shifting our identify of what is possible for us and what we are capable of.

I love the saying “The past does not predict the future”. It’s true in business and it’s true for us as human beings.

I am choosing to become the best CEO that I can so I can create a great place to work and build on the business’ success.

Who are you choosing to become?
I’d love to know. 🙂

Human connection.

Without it we experience loneliness, isolation.

With it, we can spark love and hope.

Every client and business colleague presents an opportunity to create positive human connections, to share love and spark hope.

We may be the reason someone doesn’t give up today.

A display of empathy for someone else’s situation
Or
A display of enthusiasm for their dream
May be the reason they put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward.

There is so much good that can be created and experienced in the world through the vehicle of our work and businesses.

Be the reason someone believes in the GOODNESS of people today.

😃 Hello world!

The end of the year is coming. I feel like I can breath a little, pop my head up again and reconnect here with you 🤓

I feel like there’s more celebrations to be had for the year that was. (Hello New Years Eve party!! 🥳😄)

This year certainly BROKE ME OUT of a PATTERN I was in with by business and launched me down new and unexpected paths.

The CHANGES in my business as are welcomed for all they have brought in terms of:
> 🌱 PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
> 🔑 NEW POSSIBILITIES
> 👥 NEW CIRCLES OF PEOPLE TO LEARN ABOUT AND LEAD

Is any aspect of your business or life ‘STUCK ON A PAGE’?

Are you in a PATTERN?

Do you feel like you are CIRCLING THE SAME MOUNTAIN again (even though it’s one you DON’T want to be circling, again)??

This year I’ve turned pages with a few different groups that I lead.

We’ve broken patterns, busted through and achieved outcomes we wanted.

We’ve turned pages and written the next page amd chapter with intention, focus and fun 😃

I’d love you to join me next year to plan out the ‘next page of your book’.
. . To map out each step and share the journey with a group of likeminded business people who are also creating a year that will bring them fulfilment and a sense of achievement next year.

It’s easy, it’s doable and we get to connect regularly to keep accountability high. 🙌🏼

Let’s do it! 👇🏼

Today a beautiful friend announced that her and her family and going to travel around Australia next year.

I’m ecstatic for them because they are pursuing something far greater than travel.

You see, this decision came about after her husband and her asked themselves an incredibly important question:

#1. Are we happy?

And the answer - “Yes, but . . . we think there’s more happiness to be enjoyed in life.”

So then they asked the 2nd important question:

#2. What would make us happier?

They decided it was time for an adventure and to see more of this great country together.

Now some of us will share this desire for a great big road trip, others . . . not so much.

And that is okay.

Happiness is made up of very individual and unique ‘ingredients’ for each of us.

What YOUR ingredients for happiness in life?

Let’s pursue them together next year. Let’s show up together every fortnight and check in on the most important ingredients you want in your life and build a plan to go after them or incorporate them into your day/week/month/year or life.

Message me if your keen to find out how.

All the best for a day filled with love, joy and . . . happiness! 😃

😎 The weekend is a great time to get your dose of this . . .

🤗 Nurture.

How do you nurture yourself?

Why is it even relevant and how does it help you succeed in business??

Well, just a couple of years ago I learnt something important from two clever Australian psychologists. They’re reasesrch had demonstrated that:

“Happy high performers know that quality down time is critical to quality up time”
- Global Leadership Wellbeing Survey

Quality down time is essential for us to perform at our best when we are “on”.

I learnt this when studying their research on leaders’ wellbeing and its correlation to performance.

They describe 6 domains* of wellbeing relevant to leaders (I include entrepreneurs as leaders):
1. Authentic relationships
2. Meaning, purpose and direction
3. Resilience and equanimity
4. Vitality and energy
5. Balance and boundaries
6. Intellectual stimulation and flow

The state of each domain can have an impact on the other domains.
For example, moving regularly (vitality and energy domain) can support resilience and equanimity.

Their work allows you to baseline your current status across the domains and then form a plan to enhance those specific factors that might be holding your wellbeing back.

Which of your domains needs most attention.

How can you nurture yourself in these domains in a way that fosters greater wellbeing for you (and so your performance and business can benefit)?

How might you then maintain accountability to ensure that habit or change is engrained?

If you’d love to join a supportive and encouraging accountability group of other entrepreneurs who also want to make some positive changes and progress, drop me a 🙌🏼 below
