CINDERELLAS those wonderful Charity Seals and other advertising labels usually stuck on the back of an envelope. In our Online Auction 2179, (June 3) we have some really lovely collections of these fascinating items.. Shown here is part of Lot 3206 an accumulation of mainly Christmas and TB seals from the 1920s to 1980s There are well over 1,000 items in this lot, which is just one of five mixed Cinderella lots in the Auction.

Shown here is Lot 2437 A late 1940s/early 1950s complete Australian Express Parcels (label #359451) for a parcel sent from Euroa in Victoria to Sheffield in England, with red undated large oval PARCEL POST / CHELTENHAM WILTS handstamp. this is a very uncommon label.

What is more Australian than Kookas and Kangaroos. A wonderful lot in our Auction #103 is a selection of postcards hand drawn by Minnie Visick Two of the cards are dated 1910 and 1915 and have personal messages on the back. Minnie resided in Brunswick (Melb), she was crippled by polio at the age of 10, and made a living from selling hand drawn postcards. It has been said that "her cat artwork is equal in quality to that of the famous British artist Louis Wain"

This really is a First for us!! a printed POSSESSION notice on cloth with NSW Govt imprint dated 1934. The Possession Notice has been annotated in pencil with " John Rodgers killed by fall of earth 1938 in this claim" A handwritten copy of a newspaper report on the death is included. A rare survivor in surprisingly good condition and a reminder of the risks of this sort of mining.
Possession notices were nailed to a stake to announce who has the claim and how big it is...aka Stake a Claim
