Heading to the StereoNet Hi-Fi Show this weekend? Drop in and say hello!
We’re excited to be launching the CX3B MK4, featuring a new bass driver and a substantial overhaul of the electronics and power supplies. There’s plenty that’s new beneath the surface, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you.
The new bass driver features a Klippel-optimised motor design, with copper components helping linearise voice-coil inductance and reduce distortion.
The electronics build on the balanced signal distribution we introduced with great success in the MK3. By driving each amplifier stage differentially, this approach dramatically reduces crosstalk between amplifiers sharing the same PCB, minimising interaction through the shared signal-ground paths found in single-ended designs.
For the MK4, we’ve redesigned the PCB from the ground up, with surface-mount components now making up around 90% of the design. This frees up valuable board space to further optimise the signal distribution and incorporate custom ultra-low-noise balanced line receiving circuitry. Tight-tolerance, low-noise thin-film resistors add precision and consistency throughout the signal path.
Each amplifier stage has its own isolated power supply and dedicated custom balanced receiving circuit, supported by individual ultra-low-noise regulators. Together, these refinements take an already successful design further, raising the bar for noise performance and isolation between amplifier stages.
But the best way to appreciate all that work is to have a listen. Whether you’re a familiar face or discovering SGR Audio for the first time, come in, take a seat, enjoy some music and have a chat with us.
See you at the show! Room 2209.
