If you are thinking about getting your books sorted and you are registered for GST, a tip from me to you is to make sure your bookkeeper is registered (www.tpb.gov.au/public-register). A registered BAS Agent is legally authorised to prepare and lodge your BAS, assist you with PayDay Super, handle your GST transactions and assist with payroll. An unregistered bookkeeper is not.

🚨 Payday Super Changes for Employers 🚨

Starting 1st July 2026, employers will need to pay super at the same time as wages. While the SG calculation remains the same and ATO will handle SG Charge assessments, there are some challenges ahead. The Small Business Superannuation Clearing House will retire, and missing the 7-day rule could lead to penalties. For small businesses, this means more frequent payments and increased cashflow pressure.

Did you know that if you are seeking assistance from someone to ‘do your books’ there are strict rules in place from the Tax Practitioner Board on what contractors can do? Unless you are BAS registered it is extremely limited and advising on GST, reporting payroll, super and interpreting your obligations is a no go! Hence why I have been quiet of late…busy getting that Cert IV and certification to expand on my services!

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted…I’ve been busy busy busy! I’m upping my Friday and weekend capacity for admin services and subcontracting so if you need a hand, shout out while there is a spot available!

We are no longer the untapped resource, we are supporting businesses everywhere in varying capacities doing all sorts of things!
