The Ecycle business has grown dramatically since 2012 whereby initial volume collected and recycled was less than 2,000 tonnes through to today in FY2019 we will collect & recycle 11,000 tonnes of compliant ewaste.
Polystyrene (EPS)
Ecycle Solutions is the largest polystyrene recycler in Australia. Every year we collect & recycle enough polystyrene to fill the Sydney Cricket Ground. We are the ‘one stop shop’ for collection and recycling of polystyrene (EPS), which avoids this waste stream being sent to landfill. In landfill it takes in excess of 700 years to break down. Recycling this waste is good for the environment, particularly when it is a re-useable material. Our service includes delivery of empty two (2) cubic metre bulker bags (minimum of 10), plus a metal frame to hold the bag upright and open for collecting waste EPS. We will collect fill bags in any quantity, as per the requirements of our customer(s) and recycle the waste into re-useable material. The heat extrusion machines at each of our facilities around Australia reduces the loose EPS to 2% of its original size, creating a material to manufacture picture frames, skirting boards, decking & outdoor furniture.
