Would you love your story to be in a book?

Imagine opening your inbox to find this subject line.

What’s your gut reaction?

YES, MAYBE, or NO?

In the summer of 2023, I chose YES.

That decision led me on an incredible journey, connecting me with Jo Smyth and 43 other remarkable women. 🔥🔥🔥

I’m thrilled to announce our collective work, “Finding My Voice,” is LIVE! 🎊

This book is a tapestry of stories from women who have evolved, thrived, grown, and flourished 🥳.

It’s been an honour to collaborate with visionary business leaders like Ksenia Belova 📸 Katie Edwards, Meaghan Ross, Ruth Fae-Writer, Amanda Lee and all the rest of the authors in this book.

My heartfelt gratitude goes to Jo Smyth for this fantastic opportunity and Ksenia for making the connection🩵

To all the brave, brilliant, and bold authors who bared their souls on these pages, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Your courage will undoubtedly inspire countless readers 🤩

The best part of this project is that you can join us and be part of this empowering journey by purchasing your copy at Readings Bookstores (online availability is coming soon!)🎈

All the proceeds will support Ready Set Charity, which provides professional clothing and coaching to job seekers in need🙏🏻

Let’s amplify these voices and create ripples of change!🚀

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend a talk by Janine Allis, the founder of Boost Juice and a familiar face from TV shows like Survivor and Shark Tank.

Having followed her Boost Juice journey since it started in Boronia in 2000, it was inspiring to hear her share her story.

I'd like to share three key points that stood out for me from her talk:

1. How do winners think?
Winners (SOAR) figure out solutions, take ownership, and are accountable and responsible (versus being a VERB—Victim, Entitled, Rescue, Blame). Watch her pitch when she was voted out by her team in Survivor. That’s how you can make a difference. Be a champion!

2. The seven most expensive words you can't repeat: "We have always done it that way." Now, AI has existed since 1952. It can't take your job, but people who don't use AI and choose not to embrace AI will not survive. Remember, what got you here won't be enough to get you there in 1, 3 or 5 years. You have to evolve.

3. You have to fail to succeed.
If you sit with Jeff Bezos, Jack Ma, Elon Musk, J.K. Rowling, and Neil Armstrong, they will tell you, "It is amazing what I can learn from failure!" So keep learning, keep launching, and stay curious.

These insights have prompted me to reflect on on my professional journey.

I want to add a personal observation: When others say "No," consider saying "Yes," then figure out how to make it work. I've found that life becomes more interesting when you do the uncommon things.

I'm curious about your thoughts.

Which of these points resonates most with your experiences?

I enjoyed an inspiring networking dinner hosted by Steve McMenamin connecting with diverse leaders from real estate to engineering.

The conversations with passionate go-getters creating creative products and services were refreshing.

A special thanks to Waterfront Brighton for their exceptional hospitality and delicious food.

Are you a tea lover? Imagine embarking on a journey that steeps you in history, culture, and innovation with every sip!

Today, I had the incredible privilege of joining Wendy Byrne, Head of Buying and her team at T2 Tea for an immersive tea experience that inspired me and deepened my appreciation for this timeless beverage.

Our journey took us through a carefully curated selection of teas, each with its own story and character. With her evident passion, Wendy unravelled the rich tapestry of T2 Tea’s over 27-year history.

From the meticulous sourcing of ingredients to the final product gracing store shelves, she guided us through the entire supply chain, showcasing the thought and care infused into every step.

But this immersion went far beyond tasting.

We explored T2 Tea’s office – a living testament to their commitment to sustainability.

Every corner reflected their core values: generosity, curiosity, creativity, courage, accountability, and passion.

It was inspiring to see how these principles weren’t just slogans but lived experiences woven into the fabric of their business.

What truly impressed me was the balance T2 Tea strikes between tradition and innovation.

From their beautifully designed packaging to their innovative blends, they’ve managed to respect and honour tea traditions while pushing the boundaries of creativity.

It’s a perfect brew of the old, new, familiar, and unexpected.

This immersive experience didn’t just deepen my love for tea; it opened my eyes to the power of passion in business.

When a company like T2 Tea thoroughly aligns its practices with its values, the result is truly inspiring.

To all my fellow tea enthusiasts and those who have yet to discover the magic of a perfect brew, I urge you to experience T2 Tea for yourselves.

It’s not just about drinking tea – it’s about savouring a cup of creativity, sustainability, and pure passion from sunrise to sundown.

Do you drink tea? If yes, share your favorite T2 Tea blend in the comments! My favorite is Gorgeous Geisha

From Good to Great: Elevate Your Leadership Presence

Reflecting on my career journey, I’ve come to see that true leadership presence isn’t about using power—it’s rooted in vulnerability and continuous transformation.

To shift from being a good leader to a great leader, I focused on three key areas:

🔴Authenticity: I realized that being true to myself was crucial. I stopped trying to be someone I wasn’t and began sharing my real thoughts and feelings with my team. This honesty quickly built trust and respect.

🔴Active Listening:I practiced truly listening to my team members instead of just hearing their words. I listened to their concerns, asked questions, and showed that I valued their input. This made my team feel heard and appreciated.

🔴Continuous Learning: I started to unlearn habits that no longer served me and develop new ones that added value. I read books, attended workshops, and sought mentorship from leaders I admired. I led by example.

About a month later, I noticed a change. My team became more engaged, collaborative, and motivated. This also lifted our performance to a whole new level!

“Leadership is not about being in charge. It’s about taking care of those in your charge.” – Simon Sinek

So, how do you redefine and strengthen your leadership presence?

I’d love to hear your thoughts!
