Disappearing through the southern Sicily countryside, our bus pulled up on a dirt road and we were asked to disembark. We started making our way down this rough dirt road where this Shepherd man came over the crest with his flock in tow. He stopped and greeted us, and then began to sing a song for us, which collectively had the hearts of all the girls on the tour palpitating and skipping beats.

Sicily. If you don’t know it, it’s the ball at the bottom of the boot of Italy when you’re looking at the map. The country is full of such great culture, heritage, old buildings, and plenty of old Sicilian men and women who wander around all the towns, with such great character in their faces and personality. So we spent most of the week there finding these characters all around the towns, who were more than willing to let us photograph them.
