2021 MG ZS EV – Not All EV Inspections Are Equal!
Today we completed one of our Advanced Pre-Purchase Inspections on this 2021 MG ZS EV.
As part of the inspection, we carried out a detailed EV battery health assessment, which revealed:
✅ Battery State of Health (SOH): 86.23%
✅ Cell voltage spread: 20mV (good balance)
✅ No abnormal battery temperature concerns detected
✅ High-voltage system operating normally at the time of testing
However, the inspection also uncovered several important findings that a buyer should be aware of:
🔍 Evidence of previous accident repairs with multiple panels showing repaint work and body filler present.
🔍 Water was found in the luggage compartment.
🔍 Impact damage identified underneath the vehicle, with a bent metal bar on the subframe area.
🔍 Broken right front guard liner.
🔍 Multiple Fault codes stored in vehicle control modules.
🔍 Some cosmetic wear items throughout the vehicle.
Many buyers focus only on battery health when purchasing an EV, but the reality is that a complete inspection should include:
✔ EV battery condition
✔ High-voltage system checks
✔ Accident repair assessment
✔ Paint thickness testing
✔ Computer diagnostics
✔ Underbody inspection
✔ Road testing
A healthy battery is important, but it's only one part of the vehicle's overall condition.
At Mobile Vehicle Inspections, we combine traditional vehicle inspection techniques with advanced EV and hybrid testing equipment to help buyers make informed decisions before purchase.
