Live Webinar | Wednesday 16 September 2026

Much of the discussion around AI risk has focused on how lawyers themselves should use AI responsibly. But a growing and less explored risk arises from how clients are using AI tools in connection with their legal matters. Clients are increasingly using AI to interpret legal advice, summarise communications, draft documents and prepare submissions. When these tools are used incorrectly, the consequences can include waiver of privilege, breaches of court undertakings, evidentiary issues and misunderstandings of legal advice.

The NDIS Reform Wave: Integrity, Eligibility and Funding — What's Changed and What Providers Need to Do Now

The NDIS has been remade twice in the past five months. The NDIS Amendment (Integrity and Safeguarding) Act 2026 delivered the most significant shift in provider compliance obligations since the NDIS Commission was established. And, the new NDIS Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Act 2026 went further still, giving the Minister power to reduce funding for specified supports and rewriting how eligibility and plans work. This session brings providers up to date on both Acts and what needs to change now.

Headline | Ethics CPD for Accountants
Ethics is not an optional extra sitting alongside technical training. For every major accounting body in Australia, it is a mandatory, ring-fenced part of the annual CPD requirement, and it exists for a specific reason. Public trust in the accounting profession depends on practitioners applying the same ethical judgement whether or not anyone is checking their work, and regulators treat CPD for accountants as one of the main tools for keeping that judgement current. The ban on new limited recourse borrowing arrangements (LRBAs) for residential property inside SMSFs is now law, fundamentally changing how accountants advise clients on property investment through super. The focus has shifted from establishing new borrowing arrangements to managing grandfathered loans, navigating refinancing, avoiding compliance pitfalls and reassessing long-term investment strategies. This session explains exactly how the new regime operates, the clients who remain protected, and the practical opportunities and risks that now arise.

Expert Insights | Funding the Retirement Without Selling the Family Farm
The average Australian farm owner is worth close to $5.8 million on paper, and almost none of it is cash. That gap between wealth and liquidity is quietly derailing more succession plans than any family disagreement. Advisers are increasingly the ones expected to make the numbers work: funding a dignified retirement for the outgoing generation without loading the incoming one with debt the farm can't service.

We spoke with Matthew Moore, Partner, Business Advisory at RSM Australia, about where funding-the-exit plans succeed, where they fail, and what advisers should be checking before they sign off on one.
