Here's the one that costs people the most money on blinds, and it happens before anyone picks up a drill.
Old Melbourne windows aren't square. A Victorian or Edwardian reveal can be out by ten or fifteen millimetres from top to bottom — the house has been moving since it was built. Measure once in the middle, order to that number, and the blind either won't fit at the top or leaves a light gap at the bottom.
For an inside mount: measure the width in three places, order to the narrowest. That's it. That one habit prevents most reorders.
If you've got blinds sitting in boxes in the hallway, we'll fit them — and if you haven't ordered yet, ask us first. Ten minutes of measuring advice beats any amount of skill afterwards.
