Creative Healing Journeys Art Therapy/Healing

My name is Rose Sommerhalder and I am a Melbourne based Art Therapist, Social Worker and Visual Artist. I am passionate about sharing the benefits of creativity and art making and how these activities can help us to feel more peace, contentment and joy in our lives and promote health and wellness. I offer 1:1 and group sessions for people with disabilities (self or plan managed NDIS particpants),

elderly people living in Aged Care homes and people experiencing stress, anxiety, and depression. These sessions are offered online globally, at residential facilities and sometimes at the persons home in the North Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. Art Therapy has been an interest since a young age, having been inspired by my late grandfather Desmond Norman, who was a pioneer of Art Therapy and a well known Contemporary Artist. I have been running my own business as an At Therapist for 8 years and now work fully self-employed. I have also worked for 11 years as a Social Worker in Trauma, Justice, Mental Health and Disability. I am a member of the AASW. I am also a Visual Artist and love experimenting and playing with all types of media including drawing, collage and painting. I am also an avid crafter and love to crochet, knit, embroidered and weave.
