Prompt Footy Tipping 2026 Round 13

A long weekend gives space for more games – so the AFL gives us 1 fewer. Sigh.

On Thursday evening the Cats travelled to Adelaide to take on the Crows. The Cats played catch up all game but didn’t quite catch the home team, who won by just 1 point. Only Noah & Nathan (M) tipped that result.

On Friday the Bulldogs had a very strong second half & fooled the Hawks (& all of us), to win by 6 points. The Hawks had their chances but inaccuracy in front of goal was costly.

We were united again with our tips for Freo against the Kangaroos in Bunbury. We all expected Freo to win, but by 124 points – WOW.

All but Stu & Dave expected the Lions to continue their slumpfor a fourth week. We were mistaken & the reigning Premiers were more than good enough to account for the Gold Coast Suns.

Over in Perth that afternoon the Eagles tried valiantly to match the Power but fell agonisingly short (by just 1 goal). Rus, Neil, Nathan (R) & Noah were let down by the Eagles.

In Sydney on Sunday the Swans overcame a slow start to spoil the Saints’ trip to the SCG by just 2 points. We all tipped the Swans but it could have gone either way.

Back at the G that afternoon the Bombers started well but were narrowly beaten by the Blues. How narrowly? Just 5 points. Nathan (M) tipped his beloved Bombers while the rest of us tipped the Blues.

Neale Daniher would have been proud on Monday. Not just in the team he coached but in the public response to the 12th iteration of the Big Freeze. In a very close game the Dees won by 8 points.

Dave tipped 6 right this week. Lucas & Stu scored 5 while the rest of us got 4.

This means Dave extends his lead in the comp. He now has 87. Nathan (R) has 83 in second with Chris, Daz & Neil tied for third on 81. Robyn, Jason & Noah have 77. Sarah, Suzy & Phil are on 75. Lucas, Rus & Stu are all on 72 with Nathan (M) on 61.

Round 14 starts at Marvel Stadium on Thursday evening when the Bulldogs will host the Crows. Should be a great game so get those tips in early & good Luck.
Cheers

Prompt Footy Tipping 2026 Round 12

This week was the first of a round of byes, so there were just 7 games.

In Thursday’s game between the Saints & Hawks it was all one way traffic as the Hawks kept the Saints goalless until the third quarter. The Hawks won by 52 points as all but Phil & Noah predicted.

Friday showed us that Carlton, under new leadership, really can play as they sneaked a 4 point win over the Cats at the G. Noah was the only one to tip that.

Sydney were $1.01 with the bookies to beat Richmond at the SCG on Saturday. And win they did, by a whopping 114 points. We all tipped that destruction.

When Freo travelled to the Gabba to tackle the Lions we were pretty evenly split in our tipping. Freo are shaping as flag favourites & showed why by beating the Lions by better than 4 goals.

Over at Marvel on Saturday evening the Bulldogs managed to just get over the Magpies. Only Sarah & Robyn had faith in the Magpies.

On Sunday both teams associated with Neale Daniher AO (1029 Victorian of the Year & 2025 Australian of the year & all-round hero) were in games. Both teams failed to live up to Neale’s catch cry of “keep fighting”. The Dees feel away against the Giants in Alice Springs and the Bombers showed that their issues were deeper than coaching by falling well short of AFL standards against the Eagles in Perth.

Noah & Dave shared top tipping numbers this week with 6. Stu, Nathan (R), Jason & Rus scored 4 with Phil & Robyn recording 3. The rest of us got 5.

This means that Dave is alone on top with 81. Nathan (R) is in second on 79 with Dazz, Chris & Neil tied for third with 77. Robyn, Noah & Jason are next with 73. Sarah, Suzy & Phil have 71. Rus in on 68 with Stu & Lucas just behind him with 67. Nathan (M) is on 57 having, perhaps, trusted his beloved Bombers too much this season.

Round 13 is another bye round, but with 8 games. It starts on Thursday when Adelaide Crows host the Cats. Get those tips in early & good Luck.
Cheers

Prompt Footy Tipping 2026 Round 11

After being told they weren’t going to play Tasmanian home games once the Devils come into the comp the Hawks humbled the Crows at Launceston. Only Neil & Nathan (M) hoped for the Crows.

In Friday’s first game the Tigers showed just how poor Essendon have become. They overcame an 11 person injury list to beat the lack lustre Bombers by 3 goals. Well tipped Sarah, Chris & Noah.

None of us doubted that Freo at home would be too much for St Kilda in Perth that evening.

We were united but wrong on Saturday when North hosted & came from behind to defeat the Suns at Marvel Stadium. Perhaps the Roos are starting to gel.

At GMHBA Stadium that afternoon the Swans came to understand what an advantage the Cats have at home. Lucas, Sarah & Rus missed out here.

For Scott Pedlebury’s record breaking game the Magpies defeated the Eagles. Sure it was just 10 points but we all tipped that outcome.

Over in Adelaide the “new coach” factor was again in play as Carlton overcame the Power by 34 points. Only Chris, Noah & Stu tipped that.

Sunday saw the Giants kick a record 3rd quarter score to defeat the Lions. None of us foresaw that result. Wow.

Then, to end the round, the Dees fell just short of the Bulldogs disappointing all of us, except Phil. Good tipping Phil.

Noah & Chris both tipped 6 this week. Stu & Phil scored 5. Rus, Nathan (M), Suzy, Neil & Lucas recorded 3. The rest of us got 4.

Nathan (R) & Dave are still on top, now with 75. Neil, Chris & Daz are next on 72 with Robyn in third with 70. Jason has 69, Phil is on 68, Noah has 67 with Sarah & Suzy together on 66. Rus has 64, Stu is on 63, Lucas has 62 with Nathan (M) on 52.

Round 12 starts on Thursday evening where the Saints take on the Hawks at Marvel. Get those tips in well before the game & good luck.
Cheers

Prompt Footy Tipping 2026 Round 10

On Thursday evening the Cats went to the Gabba and handed the Lions 41 point loss. Sarah, Nathan (R), Stu & Neil were the only ones to tip that outcome.

In both Friday games we were united in tipping the winners, Swans & Suns.

On Saturday there were some surprises. Firstly the Crows hosted the Kangaroos & absolutely flogged them. All but Sarah, Rus, Lucas & Nathan (M) tipped that.

Then it was the Dees taking on the Hawks at the G. Neil alone showed either tipping wisdom or enthusiastic barracking in tipping the victorious Demons. No doubt there will be a statue erected, once they can source enough bronze.

Carlton surprised most of us and may have proved the “sacked coach” effect in beating the Bulldogs. Well tipped by Stu & Noah.

In Sunday’s first game the Dockers came to town & soundly beat the struggling Bombers. Nathan (M) tipped his beloved Bombers to no avail.

We were united again in tipping the Saints against Richmond (can Richmond even field a team next week against Essendon?).

United again, but wrong, we all tipped GWS to beat the West Coast Eagles in the final game of round 10. GWS got their noses in front at ¾ time but the Eagles had the better final term and won by 17 points.

Stu & Neil scored 7 this week. Noah & Nathan (R) got 6. Lucas & Rus recorded 4 while Nathan (M) got just 3. The rest of us scored 5.

Nathan (R) & Dave still lead, now on 71. Neil is second on 69 with Daz just behind on 68. Robyn & Chris have 66, Jason is on 65, Suzy & Phil have 63. Sarah has 62. Noah & Rus are on 61 with Lucas on 59, Stu on 58 with Nathan (M) on 49.

Round 11 starts in Tassie on Thursday when the Hawks & Crows battle. Get those tips in early & good Luck.
Cheers

Prompt Footy Tipping 2026 Round 9

The Hawks learnt the difficulty of going to Perth & playing against the Dockers. In a final ¼ fightback the home team seemed to have more legs & recorded a 15pt win, disappointing Rus & Stu.

On Friday we ALL knew the Lions would be too much for Carlton, who started well but faded. And now Carlton will have a fill in senior coach for the rest of 2026.

In Adelaide that same day the Power held the visiting Bulldogs goalless in the 3rd quarter. But that wasn’t enough & the Bulldogs managed to scrape out a 2 point win. We were divided in our tipping on this game.

At Marvel Stadium on Saturday we were united in tipping the Swans over the Roos, but it was a much closer game than we expected. The final margin was just 8 points.

Only Nathan (M) believed his Bombers would be able to travel to Sydney & beat the GWS Giants. Sorry mate – it wasn’t to be.

Up in Darwin, at TIO Stadium, the Gold Coast Suns hosted the Saints & in spite of a strong start the Saints fell well short. Lucas was the only tip against the Suns who won by almost 5 goals after a strong second half.

That evening Geelong hosted the Magpies at the G. The Magpies didn’t have any answers to Geelong’s pressure & lost by 54 points, disappointing Suzy, Noah & Robyn.

All of us tipped he final two games of the round correctly.

Phil, Dave & Neil all scored 9 (scratchies are en-route). Rus, Stu, Robyn & Nathan (M) all recorded 7 correct. The rest of us got 8.

This means that Dave is now alone in front on 66 with Nathan (R) in second on 65. Daz is on 63 followed by Neil woth 62. Robyn & Chris are together on 61 with Jason next with 60. Suzy & Phil have 58, Sarah & Rus are on 57 while Noah & Lucas have 55. Stu is on 51 with Nathan (M) on 46.

Will the “sacked coach syndrome” impact the round 10 game at Marvel between Carlton & the Bulldogs? Who knows. It is a funny game.

Round 10 starts on Thursday when Geelong travel to the Gabba to take on the Lions. Get those tips in early & good Luck.
Cheers

Prompt Footy Tipping 2026 Round 8

Right, Thursday’s game has been addressed in an earlier email. Everyone will score there.

Friday saw Freo come from behind to beat a gallant Bulldogs outfit by just 12 points. All but Nathan (M) & Phil got that outcome correct.

Also on Friday there was a cracker in Adelaid between the local lads. One solitary point was the margin Only Chris opted for the Power - sorry Chris.

First up on Saturday it was the Lions who well & truly accounted for the Bombers. We all predicted that result.

Then the Tigers travelled to Perth to tackle the Eagles. All but Sarah expected the home team to triumph, but it was Sarah’s Tigers who led at every change & secured an 11 point win.

GMHBA Stadium is a Geelong fortress & this was evident when Geelong took on the Kangaroos. A 9 goal final term saw the Cats race to a 49 point win. Young Lucas tipped the unfortunate Roos while the rest of us were with the Cats.

At Marvel Stadium the Saints took on the troubled Blues & as we are used to seeing the Blues faded in the second half to fall well short of the Saints. Phil, Noah & Nathan (M) had their faith in the Blues betrayed.

Sunday’s first game was between the Swans & the visiting Dees. After an even first quarter it was the Swans who took the game on & the the plucky Dee’s fell almost 3 goals short, just as we all predicted.

In the last game of round 8 the Suns hosted the Giants & recorded a 20 point win. We were almost unanimous in tipping the Suns, with Sarah & Stu being the dissenting voices.

Lots of us scored 8 this week with Noah, Lucas, Chris & Stu scoring 7. Nathan (M) & Phill got 6.

This means that Nathan (R) & Dave still lead with 57 with Daz right behind on 55. Robyn has 54 with Chris & Neil next on 53. Jason has 52 while Suzy & Rus are together on 50. Sarah & Phil have 49 with Lucas & Noah next on 47. Stu has 44 & Nathan (M) is on 39.

It all starts again on May 7th when Freo take on the Hawks. Get those tips in early.

Prompt Footy Tipping 2026 Round 7

I was concerned that I’d need to buy more $2 scratchies. Not so!

On Thursday only Nathan (M) tipped the wounded Bulldogs who fell a long way short of the Swans.

Friday saw the mighty Dees take on the Tigers on Anzac Day Eve (is that even a thing?). Tipping the upset Nathan (M) was again on his own as the Dees destroyed the Tigers by 54 points.

Down in Launceston the form of Christian Petracca was not enough to stop the Hawks from recording a 49 point win over the Gold Coast Suns. Most of us tipped that outcome.

On Anzac Day the Bombers weren’t up to the pressure of the Magpies. Lucas & Nathan (M) tipped the wrong way. The final margin was 77 points in favour of the Magpies.

Then it was the turn of Port Adelaide to upset most of us. Only Noah foresaw that the Cats would fall at the Adelaide Oval. Brilliant or lucky? Either way Noah scored there.

There was no such surprise over in Perth where Freo hosted Carlton. We all tipped Freo to win & they did, very well indeed.

Marvel Stadium echoed to the strains of “Oh when the Saints go marching in” after the visiting Eagles were thumped by 101 points, just as we all (except Nathan (M)) predicted.

Up at the Gabba the reigning Premiers accounted for the visiting Crows by 52 points. Sorry Noah, you missed out on that one.

The final game of the round was at Manuka Oval between GWS & the Kangaroos. It was all even at half time but GWS singles the stronger, holding off a Roos come back to win by 7 points.

No 9s this week but 8 of us scored 8. Sarah, Neil, Jason & Rus got 7 correct with Lucas & Noah receiving 6. Nathan (M) had an upset based stratery & recorded just v3.

Nathan (R) & Dave are still on top, now with 49. Daz is holding second place on 47. Robyn & Chris have 46 with Neil just one tip away with 45. Jason is on 44, Phil has 43 with Suzy & Rus just behind on 42. Sarah has 41, Lucas & Noah are on 40. Stu has 37 & Nathan (M) is on 33.

Round 8 starts on Thursday so get those tips in

Good luck

Prompt Footy Tipping 2026 Round 6

All 9 teams were in action again this week.

On Thursday it was a better performing Carlton that almost beat Collingwood. Almost but not quite.Only Jason, Stu & Nathan (M) tipped Carlton. Sorry lads.

The first game on Friday was a flogging of the Bulldogs by Geelong at GMHBA Stadium. Noah, Lucas & Phill tipped the wrong way there.

Next on Friday was the Battle of the Bridge between the Swans & GWS. The lightning interruptions were not enough to save GWS from a 41 point loss. We all got that game right.

Saturday’s first game was between the Gold Coast & Essendon. Nathan (M) was the only tip for the Bombers & he was almost right. It was only a 9 point margin.

Then it was the Hawks Vs the Power at Marvel. We all tipped the Hawks, who were down by 9 points at half time to the more accurate Power. The final margin of just 3 points proved us all correct, just.

Only Rus, Nathan (M) & Neil tipped the Saints to beat the Crows at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday evening & they were so close to being right. The Saints fell just 1 point behind at the final siren.

Sunday started with the Roos thumping Richmond, just as we all expected them to. The 75 point margin was the only surprise.

Then the Dee’s scraped to a 2 point win over the Lions. Wow! A strong third qtr was the difference. None of us saw that outcome.

The West Coast Vs Fremantle result was no surprise either. We all foresaw the Dockers win. That the Dockers more than doubled the Eagles.

Nathan (M) only scored 5 while Stu, Noah, Neil, Lucas, Rus, Phill & Jason all recorded 7. The rest of us got 8.

That all means Dave & Nathan (R) are still on top with 41. Daz is next with 39. Robyn, Chris & Neil are tied on 38. Jason has 37, with Phil & Rus together on 35. Lucas, Sarah, Noah & Suzy have 34. Nathan (M) has 30. Stu is now on 29.

All things considered we are all pretty close for it being round 6.

Round 7 starts on Thursday at Marvel when the wounded Bulldogs host the Swans.

Get those tips in early & good luck

Cheers

Prompt Footy Tipping 2026 Round 5 Gather Round

All 9 teams, & some of us tragics, travelled to Adelaide for round 5.

A wet Thursday evening saw Carlton do Carlton things against the Crows. None of us thought Carlton could win.

Friday’s game was Freo V Collingwood (again at the Adelaide Oval). Wet again but our seats were under cover. In a low scoring game Freo made better use of their opportunities & finished 6 points ahead. Suzy, Stu & Phil missed out on that one.

At Barossa Park on Saturday the Lions took on the Roos. The Roos played well but weren’t up to the challenge & fell by 26 points. Sarah had her faith in the plucky Roos let down.

Meanwhile, back at the AO it was the Dees against the Bombers. The Bombers broke a 12 month losing streak by thumping the Dees. From our ground level seats it looked like the Dees didn’t turn up after ½ time. By faith or brilliance Nathan (M) foresaw the result.

At Norwood Oval later that afternoon the Swans accounted for the Suns by 32 points. All of us, (except Jason, Suzy, Nathan (M) & Stu) got that one right.

Saturday night the action was back at the AO. The Hawks beat the Bulldogs by 40 points. Injuries certainly played a part but the Hawks were just better all game. We were pretty evenly split in our tipping here.

At Norwood, In the first of the Sunday games, Geelong were untroubled by the Eagles. Only the Morse boys tipped an upset that didn’t happen.

No one doubted that the GWS would be too much for the Tigers at Barossa Park that afternoon. From our spot on the embankment it was all too clear.

The final game of the round was at AO & it was the Saints who proved too good for the Power. The Saints got away to an early lead & held off the Power to record a 14 point win. We were pretty evenly split on the outcome.

Nathan (R), Daz & Dave all scored 8 this week. Robyn, Chris, Rus & Neil scored 7. Suzy & Phill recorded 5 with Stu getting 4. The rest of us got 6 correct.

It is still Nathan (R) & Dave on top, now on 33. Daz & Neil are second on 31. Robyn, Jason & Chris have 30 with Rus & Phil next on 28. Noah & Lucas have 27. Sarah & Suzy are next on 26. Nathan (M) has 25 with Stu last on 22.

Round 6 starts Thursday evening when traditional rivals, Carlton & Collingwood clash at the G. Get those tips in early & good Luck.
Cheers

Prompt Footy Tipping 2026 Round 4

8 games this week.

Thursday saw the Lions host the Magpies at the Gabba. It was a strong win to the Lions, the Magpies missing some good players. Lucas, Robyn, Dave & Rus missed out there.

Carlton’s final term fades continued & the Kangaroos recorded a 10 point win on Good Friday. We were pretty evenly split in our tips here.

That Friday evening saw a very tight game between the Crows & the Dockers at Adelaide Oval. The Dockers prevailed by just 2 points as 6 of us predicted.

We all expected the Power to account for the Tigers in Saturday’s first game. We were right.

Over at Optus Stadium the home team, The West Coast Eagles, were no match for the visiting Swans, who delivered a 128 point thumping. Nathan (M) & Jason had hope for the Eagles but were let down.

On Sunday Noah proved that he knows more about football than any of us. Only he tipped the Dees to beat the Suns at the G. Great tipping Noah.

At Marvel Stadium Sunday night Nathan (M) was alone in tipping his beloved Bombers against the Bulldogs. Essendon put in a fair effort but lacked the firepower.

In another very close game the Hawks overcame the Cats on Monday. Just 1 point was the margin after 4 super close quarters of footy. Sarah, Nathan (R), Neil & Stu missed out.

Jason, Rus, Lucas, Noah & Neil all scored 6. Suzy, Sarah, Phil, Daz, Dave, Nathan (R) & Chris all got 5 correct. Nathan (M), Robyn & Stu recorded 4.

So, Dave & Nathan (R) are still in the lead with 25. Jason & Neil are second on 24. Phil, Robyn, Daz & Chris are next with 23. Suzy, Noah, Rus & Lucas are on 21 with Sarah on 20, Nathan (M) on 19 & Stu on 18.

Gather round is next & it starts on Thursday, so get those tips in early & good Luck.
Cheers
