My local bus just drive past me...

Painted on the side: a 🌈 and the words "You are loved"

Painted on the back: "This is a clean energy bus"

Sign on the back: The bus number and route so I know which bus it is, making it easier for me to be aware of and use my local public transport.

Some days, the world is good 🤗

on 2023 - what worked, what didn't, what could be improved.

OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, DECEMBER
* Wrapped all major projects, started new internal projects:
- Etsy store expansion (added notebooks and cups to the range of t-shirts - very exciting!).
- Lots of coffees (mostly video coffees but one or two IRL!).
* Attended AWS Innovate and Microsoft Ignite. Need to keep up with the world of technology!
* Started planning for 2024 - more strategy and planning, more hybrid work design, start expanding use of AI for practical benefit (and to test for safety, security and copyright infringements!!!).

on 2023 - what worked, what didn't what could be improved.

JUNE, JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER
* Continued with Volunteering Australia, wrapped Code for Australia and VPSC.
* Worked with the leadership team of the Victorian County Court to help guide thinking on how to translate their new strategy into delivery. Started some interim work with the Wurundjeri Corporation Board. Both operate in challenging domains but provide important and meaningful services to the community. Very satisfying.

on 2023 - what worked, what didn't, what could be improved.

MARCH, APRIL, MAY
* Continue on major projects for Volunteering Australia, Code for Australia and the Victorian Public Sector Commission.

* Workshops galore - coming to the end of the financial year puts pressure on getting stuff done!

* Finalise arrangements for renewing our government purchasing contracts: BuyICT with the Australian Government and Professional Advisory Services with the Victorian Government. We're now (re-)approved for government procurement ✅

* Check in with our partners at for interim executive gigs. Just touching base - we don't have capacity and there are no matching gigs rn.

* Launch new Etsy store with kooky t-shirts that say things like 'I'm a policy wonk and proud of it'. Why? Coz no one else is doing it and it needs to be done! What's that? What's it called? Why, Bureaucracy Chic, of course 👕

FEBRUARY
* Kicked off two new projects

- Procure a major technology partner for Volunteering Australia's new online management platform

- Represent Code for Australia in a collaboration with the Victorian Public Sector Commission on a range of work including their Gender Affirmation project and supporting the development of their digital project workflow processes and systems.

The Volunteer Management Online Project will create a single, centralised gateway to a curated selection of national tools and resources that support

on 2023 - what worked, what didn't, what could be improved...

JANUARY

* Wrapped the Geelong Live Music Action Plan Report, ready to lay the foundations for their next long-term music plan. Worked! It was a joy to collaborate with you all on this one.

* Successfully applied as a supplier on the Australian Government's Digital Marketplace. Worked - sort of. The whole process was a little clunky considering this platform should be leading the way, but, it has now been relaunched as a full government marketplace, so let's go with that being something that 'worked' 👍

* Kicked off the year by connecting with a small group of associates to explore how we could reframe 'consulting' since we all work quite differently to the accepted model (which we can now see is broken anyway). This definitely 'could be improved' as we still haven't come up with a good alternative title. Advisory? Not sure that's any more meaningful, so we'll keep working on it. 🤔
