There’s something quietly powerful about the moment a person begins to see themselves as part of the natural world again.
I recently had the pleasure of working on a piece for the official May Gibbs website, exploring ways for children to participate in citizen science research using iNaturalist - a beautiful reminder that science isn’t only the domain of labs and experts, but something we can all participate in through curiosity, observation, and care for the places where we live.

What I love most about this idea is how it reignites connection.
A child noticing patterns in leaves. A walker recording bird calls. A community quietly paying attention to what the land is saying back to them.
These small acts become part of something much larger - a shared language between people and place.
As a freelance writer, this is the space I’m most drawn to. Writing that helps people slow down, look more closely, and feel a deeper sense of belonging in the natural world.
Whether it’s storytelling, educational content, or brand narratives, I’m interested in work that builds connection rather than distance.
If you’re working on projects that bring together environment, education, storytelling, or community engagement, I’d love to connect.
