Think you need to be confident before joining Toastmasters?

You don’t.

Some people walk through the door already comfortable speaking. Others join because speaking in front of people makes them nervous.

There’s room for both.

Toastmasters gives you a place to try, learn, get feedback and try again. Confidence can come later.

You don’t have to be “ready” to visit a club. Come along as a guest, meet the people and see what you think.

Practice is the point.

📣 Have you lodged your Club Success Plan yet?

District 73 clubs are encouraged to submit their Club Success Plan (CSP) by 19 September 2026, helping us monitor progress ahead of the DCM.

The official lodgement deadline is 30 September 2026, so there is still time. Your CSP doesn’t need to be perfect or completely finalised. Submit your initial plan and continue refining it throughout the year.

📣 A friendly reminder to all District 73 clubs: Club Success Plans (CSPs) are due by 30 September 2026.

Where possible, we encourage clubs to submit by 19 September to support District monitoring ahead of the DCM.

Your CSP doesn’t need to be perfect or fully developed yet. A simple outline is absolutely fine and can be updated and refined as your club progresses throughout the year.

We spend a lot of time in Toastmasters learning how to speak. Today, R U OK? Day reminds us that knowing how to listen matters just as much.

Behind every speech, every evaluation, every meeting role and every achievement is a person. So take a moment to check in with a fellow member, friend, colleague or someone you haven’t heard from in a while.

Ask. Listen. Encourage action. Check in.

Because sometimes the most important conversation happens outside the meeting.

So… what actually is Toastmasters?

Maybe you’ve heard the name before, but you’re still not entirely sure what happens in a meeting. You’re definitely not the only one!

Toastmasters is a place to practise. To speak, think on your feet, give feedback, lead, listen and build confidence over time.

And you don’t need to already be a confident speaker. That’s kind of the point.

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to show you what Toastmasters actually looks like through real members, real clubs and real stories from across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.

Whether you want to build confidence, communicate better, develop your leadership skills, or you’re simply curious about what we do, stick around.

We’re just getting started.
