You've probably heard it from someone: sweeteners trick your body and leave you hungrier later. It's one of those claims that gets repeated so often it starts to feel like fact. 🍯

Except when researchers actually tested it, it didn't hold up. A study in the journal Appetite gave people preloads sweetened with stevia, aspartame or sucrose, and despite around 200 fewer calories in the sweetened version, people didn't eat more afterwards. A larger meta-analysis across 129 comparisons found the same thing, low-energy sweeteners linked to lower energy intake, not higher.

Natvia Natural Sweetener is made from stevia and erythritol, a straightforward way to take the sugar out of your coffee, tea or baking. πŸ”

This One Pot Bibimbap quietly ignores everything that makes bibimbap a weekend project 🍳 Shiitake, carrot, bean sprouts and spinach steam right on top of the rice while it cooks, and the punchy gochujang bibimbap sauce is balanced with Natvia Natural Sweetener instead of sugar or honey. Add a fried egg with a runny yolk and mix until every grain is coated.

Keep a batch of the sauce in the fridge and you will find excuses to use it: https://natvia.com/blogs/recipes/one-pot-bibimbap?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social

β€”
INGREDIENTS
BASE
- 1 cup short grain or jasmine rice
- 1 cup water
- 5 dried shiitake mushrooms, soaked for at least 1 hour and sliced
- 1 carrot, thinly sliced
- Β½ cup bean sprouts
- Β½ cup spinach
BIBIMBAP SAUCE
- 2 tbsp gochujang

- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 1 garlic clove, minced, or Β½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
TO SERVE

- Roasted seaweed, torn or cut into strips
- Roasted sesame seeds

METHOD
1. Soak the dried shiitake in water for at least 1 hour, then slice.
2. Stir the bibimbap sauce ingredients together in a small bowl until the sweetener dissolves. Set aside.
3. Add the rice and water to the rice cooker, then layer the shiitake, carrot, bean sprouts and spinach on top.
4. Cook on the standard white rice setting.
5. While the rice finishes, fry the eggs sunny side up.
6. Divide the bibimbap between two bowls, drizzle over the bibimbap sauce, top each with a fried egg and scatter over the seaweed and sesame seeds. Mix everything together before eating.

Every parent has braced for the dentist saying something's not right, and 1 in 3 kids under 5 already have decay in their baby teeth. 🦷

It's not really about how much sugar you eat, it's about how often. Each time sugar hits your mouth, plaque bacteria produce acid that wears down enamel, and saliva needs a few clear hours to recover.

Swapping sugar for Natvia Natural Sweetener in tea, coffee and baking takes those acid hits off the table without taking away the sweetness.

That's why grazing on something sweet all afternoon does more damage than the same amount in one sitting. ✨
