Planning Great Futures Planning Great Futures has a respite care service on a hobby farm in Pakenham Victoria. these are often followed up by sessions in the workplace.

Planning Great Futures has been in business for thirteen years and has completed a number of projects and over seventy graphic plans ( PATH)
Planning - We have done a number of graphic plans PATH and MAP for individuals with a disability, carers, teams and agencies
Carers - We work with carers to create plans for them and help make them happen
Workshops on planning - we deliver fun 'hands on' workshops for workers on planning including one day workshop 101 ways to plan and a longer program The Tool Kit. The Housing Roadshow - a workshop for individuals with a disability and their families to provide an informative practical guide to housing and the road to independent living. Includes the booklet The Housing Information Kit. Can also be delivered to workers
Mentor and support program - we offer a program of skill development, links to community, working alongside staff in the workplace to change values, build skills and create a change of culture in services. This can be particularly helpful where traditional training programs have not led to positive change. Participant reviews - a fun filled program including arts, one to one and group work to find out what participants think about their program, and what they would like to change. Suits traditional services wanting to make genuine changes to the way they deliver support.

What's happening at Brookfield!?
Knoxbrooke group - Today our Tuesday group joined us for the third time. They have brought a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to the place, creating new vegetable gardens, a herb garden and last week a worm farm. We love having lots of people and activity and thanks to Mike at Knoxbrooke for making it happen.

Certificate 2 in Animal Studies - We were excited to discover a suitable course at Narre Warren that will enable participants to study animal care and welfare. We have two participants TIm and Gemma who are spending time with us each week to gain animal care experience before they start the course. Thanks to Alysha support worker who is supporting them to learn.

Spring and babies. - Next Monday we are looking forward to the delivery of an incubator and chicken eggs. This will enable us to see the eggs hatch and then care for the chicks. It will be a first time experience for Brookfield. Cute photos to follow

New respite care model - We have always tried to offer a flexible model of STA. short term accommodation. It is not possible to offer staff accommodation to external staff but we are trialling the provision of overnight care by Brookfield with the participants staff offering day time support. This could be a transition phase or a more ongoing arrangement. We hope to commence with our first participant in the coming weeks.

We had a fantastic time in the school holidays at Brookfield with a fun art workshop and lots of outings to movies, fishing, pub dinners, bush walking, cooking and art gallery visits.
But Term 4 is shaping up to be busy too. We are so pleased to welcome a group from Knoxbrooke on Tuesdays to help us establish our vegetable gardens and fruit trees, create a worm farm this week and care for our many animals.
We also have a new participant joining us on Fridays, with her own worker. to help around the farm.
We have two new participants but always happy to take new referrals.
I will post some photos this week of our new group and our gardens.
Di and team,
