Field 2 at Progress Park, Auburn is now complete. 🎉

This is a major milestone in a big project delivered by Polytan for Cumberland City Council. The new synthetic field is Australian-made Ligaturf HB250, a FIFA Quality system built for performance and safety. It can handle hours of use, allowing more keen players to take to the field while taking pressure off the natural fields with the added bonus of less maintenance.

Having both natural and synthetic fields available for a community is a smart way to keep a park playable year-round.

Up next, the new basketball and multisport Laykold court is nearly finished. And those natural fields? Fields 1 and 3 are expected to open in early 2027.

Some people say watching paint dry is slow, we’re watching grass grow now!

We can't wait for everything to be ready so that the whole park will be open to the community.

Another little update here. A few weeks on and sometimes it is still hard to spot the progress and looking at these images you wouldn't quite pick it yet.

Our Polytan crew are back out on site ensuring another layer of this new field's foundation is prepared with precision. It might not be the most exciting part to watch, but getting the base right is key to building a field that performs for years to come, while providing the comfort and safety players need.

There’s plenty happening beneath the surface before our Australian-made Poligras Hockey field makes its debut. One layer at a time! 🏑

It’s Hockey One season time! 🏑🔥

Just 1 more day to go until the season opener between Canberra Chill and Adelaide Fire.

And this season, there’s even more to look forward to with the Melbourne Cobras joining the league for the first time!

As an Official Partner of Hockey One, we are excited for this season to get underway and see hockey grow from strength to strength each year. Most of the games will be played on Poligras which always shows up impeccable in person and on our screens.

Get ready for rounds of jam-packed hockey action, with some of Australia’s best players going head-to-head across the country.

A new chapter is incoming at the Penguin Athletic Track. 🏃‍♂️

This much-loved facility has been a home for local athletes for many years, servicing the North West of Tasmania and beyond. And with the coastline just a stone’s throw away, it really is a pretty special place to run.

Polytan has been working closely with the facility for some time, helping to extend the life of the existing track through education and advice to maintenance and repairs, squeezing just a few more years out of a much-loved surface.

But now, it’s time for a new chapter.

This week, the old surface is coming up, with a new Rekortan M track set to take its place.

We know everyone involved is excited to see a new track take shape, and we’re looking forward to watching the project progress over the coming weeks.

Fingers crossed the Tasmanian weather plays its part so we can get the project completed on schedule. 🤞

And there’s one more thing to keep an eye out for… 👀

There are few places in the world where sport and history come together quite like the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens.

Known as the Kallimarmaro, meaning “beautiful marble”, the stadium was built more than 2,300 years ago and reconstructed for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. More than a century later, it continues to play an important role in the Olympic movement, including serving as the setting for the Olympic Flame Handover Ceremony.

Now, this historic venue has entered a new chapter with the completion of a new Rekortan Hertha Blue running track. 💙

A huge congratulations to our colleagues in EMEA, who delivered this project in collaboration with Greek installation partner ErgoMass. Together, they have combined the heritage of one of the world's most recognisable sporting venues with modern track technology.

For Polytan, being part of a project in such an iconic Olympic location is particularly special. Our athletics tracks and Poligras hockey surfaces have been trusted and chosen at the Olympic Games and around the world, creating a legacy that now extends to the very place where the modern Olympic story began.

It is so special to see our surfaces playing a part in preserving the stadium’s role as a place where athletes, history and the Olympic spirit continue to meet.

Chatswood Rotary War Memorial Athletics Field✅

We have a lot of athletics tracks to install this summer across Australia, so it’s nice to get this one across the finish line first. 🏁

Last week, the final touches including the linemarking were completed, and we know these sprint and jump lanes featuring Rekortan G13 will be put to work over and over again.

The facility was designed with regular training in mind, and with that comes repeated use and the need for a surface that can keep up with athletes. We’re also seeing more demand for smaller training areas, with track surfacing being incorporated alongside existing training facilities.

Rekortan G13 provides excellent force reduction, helping create a more comfortable training environment while supporting athletes for repeat sprints and jumps session after session.

One down, plenty more to go. Bring on the summer track season. 🏃‍♂️💨

☀️ Sydney sunshine has been out in force with the start of spring, and it is perfect for surfacing!

Our Polytan crew making some serious moves at the Chatswood Rotary War Memorial Athletics Field.

The existing venue has long featured a grass track, and as part of the upgrade, we’re adding new Rekortan sprint lanes, along with new jump lanes.

Rekortan G13 was selected for the project, bringing the distinctive ‘ping’ to the track, supporting athletes to train over and over while combining athlete welfare with high performance.

So, while the existing grass track remains, athletes will soon have dedicated synthetic lanes for sprinting and jumping, adding another training option to the facility.

If the weather keeps playing along, we’ll have linemarking underway next week, a welcome finishing touch that will bring those key distance markers to life. 🏃‍♀️

We’ve got plenty of tracks to deliver across the coming months, so let’s hope the sunshine sticks around! 😎
