This weekend in Florida, the inaugural Under Armour Track & Field Nationals will take place at IMG Academy — one of the world’s leading high-performance sporting environments and with Rekortan as the official track partner.

The venue features a new Rekortan Gel “super track”, engineered for elite competition through optimised energy return, controlled force reduction, and consistent performance across all events.

Designed to help athletes translate power efficiently while managing impact load, it reflects the continued evolution of world-class athletics surfaces.

Polytan is delighted to be awarded the tender for the design and construction of the athletics track and field at the Orange Regional Sporting Precinct.

As athletics continues to grow across Australia, it’s fantastic to see regional communities like Orange benefiting from this level of investment. The installation of a Rekortan M track will provide a high-performance surface designed for consistency, durability and speed.

We’re excited to play a role in supporting the next generation of track and field athletes in regional Australia.

Works are due to commence later this year and due for completion early 2027 (let's hope for great weather!)

We're ready for another huge weekend of athletics! 🏃‍♂️🔥

Polytan recently completed a major track upgrade at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre, right in time for the Australian National Championships which starts today!

The new Rekortan Gel track is designed to optimise performance, durability and athlete wellbeing at the highest level.

“Rekortan Gel delivers the ideal balance of speed, comfort and durability, helping athletes perform at their best while reducing impact on the body,” said Anthony Kelly from Polytan Asia Pacific.

With stars like Nina Kennedy, Peter Bol and Jessica Hull set to compete, it’s going to be an exciting few days on the new track.

What a night in Adelaide 🔥🏃‍♂️

The recent 2026 Adelaide Invitational saw Australia’s top athletes deliver incredible performances on the Rekortan Gel track at SA Athletics Stadium.

From Aidan Murphy’s 200m meet record to Daniel Williams’ 1:44.37 PB, the track was on fire. Abbey Caldwell, Matthew Hunt and both 4×100m relay teams also added their names to the record books - some of the fastest times ever seen at the venue.

According to Level 3 Advanced Athletics Australia Coach, Debbie Meich, the surface is making a real difference:

“The biggest difference is how well the athletes pull up after sessions. The surface has a real cushion to it…we’re seeing some amazing personal bests.”

Rekortan Gel’s advanced design helps deliver speed, comfort and consistency - supporting both performance and recovery.

Featuring our Rekortan Gel G13 system and Australia’s first alternating blue lane design, the new track brings a fresh look to one of the country’s leading venues -without compromising on performance.

Delivered under tight timelines and challenging conditions, the Polytan team and all contractors involved are to be commended for an outstanding job 👏

Finished in time for the National Championships this April, the track is ready to perform at the highest level from day one.

Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre 🏃‍♂️✅

Over the weekend, the new track was officially opened, hosting the NSW Junior Championships and marking a major milestone for the venue.

Polytan is proud to deliver another world-class Rekortan Gel G13 track this time featuring striking alternating blue lanes.

With a tight timeframe to deliver ahead of the Australian summer of athletics, this project was a true all-in effort. From early planning and coordination through to manufacturing the materials, logistics and on-site installation, including executing the alternating colours which is the first of its kind in Australia.

Our Polytan crews worked through some of the holidays and battled the elements including the Sydney heat and rain, to ensure we deliver the surface with quality and performance for athletes to compete on from day one. When we completed this track, it really felt like we hit a team PB!

This marks the third state level facility in Australia to choose our Rekortan Gel system, designed to deliver the ideal balance of performance, durability and athlete comfort. It’s also leading the way in sustainability, with the gel layer made from up to 84% renewable and recycled materials, delivering long-term performance while reducing environmental impact.

In a few short weeks' time, this track will be hosting the National Championships from April 9-12, where you can catch all the live action on 7 Plus.

Kareela Oval ✅

Polytan is proud to deliver Fields 2 & 3 at Kareela Oval for Sutherland Shire Council as part of their commitment to investing in community sport infrastructure.

After recycling the existing surfaces through RE4ORM, our team got straight to work on the resurfacing.

We installed 2 x Australian-made Ligaturf HB250 fields, each equipped with the Intelligent Play system for real-time field usage tracking and new lighting to enable nighttime use.

Facilities like these support active lifestyles, strengthen local sport and give communities the modern, resilient spaces they deserve.

📍 Adelaide Hockey Club

We’re going to miss spending time in Adelaide after delivering this fantastic hockey surfacing project! There are only a few final days left before we hand over to the club.

This field is now fitted with our Australian made Poligras H2OZ designed for clubs thanks to its elite hockey performance, while also being versatile enough for multisport use. At this facility, it is also complete tennis line marking, which we’re sure will make it one of the most in demand fields all year round.
