(and if you’re a business that sends emails, this will help you)

🎨 Are your beautifully branded emails accessible?

Email marketers are often asked to sacrifice email accessibility for aesthetics. Guilty!

As the client, your brand colours and fonts are important however, you’d be surprised how off-brand your emails look, especially in dark mode. On top of that, they’re often unreadable and not mobile-friendly.

♿ Why email accessibility matters:

Emails that don’t balance text and images can end up in spam.

Your emails may not be compliant depending on your state or territory.

A customer with a screen reader will be unable to read your emails.

Image only emails can override customers dark mode settings. NOT COOL!

🔧 How to fix this:

Use live text as much as possible i.e write your copy directly into Klaviyo vs Canva.

In Dark mode your choice of colours inverse. Use a monochrome palette for your copy and buttons. Skincare brands rhode and Go-to skincare have adopted this approach.

If you must use text in images add alt text.

Use a minimum of 16pt font size for mobile and 14pt for desktop.
