"Leadership is influence. It's a verb, not a noun," Peter Caddy explains, capturing a key insight from his early days as a leader. Leadership isn't about titles or positions—it's about the influence you exert and the relationships you build.

Caddy noted that many people, despite having great ideas, struggle because they can't influence others. Frustrated, they often blame others or the company and eventually move on.

The secret, according to Caddy, lies in one-on-one relationship building. Leadership isn't about dictating change to a group, it's about understanding individual perspectives and showing you value their viewpoints. Only then will people be open to new ideas.

The energy and engagement throughout the event were electric! From inspiring talks and insightful workshops to thought-provoking debates and countless hallway conversations, Design Outlook provided a vibrant platform for the design community to connect and grow.

The year-on-year growth in attendance speaks volumes about the thriving design landscape. The great Jakob Nielsen predicts an increasing presence of user-centric design for years to come, while we enter an age of AI. The idea of almost “everyone becoming a designer” in some form echoed throughout the opening keynotes.

It acts as a content powerhouse, streamlining everything from copywriting to summaries. It also sparks creativity, igniting fresh design ideas and problem-solving approaches. UX professionals leverage it for research tasks like generating interview questions and analyzing data, and even for creating placeholder text in prototypes. Sharyn is a multi-disciplinary designer, with an extensive range of technical and creative expertise. She has been creating successful digital experiences for the past 20 years!

Having come from a background in Visual Design, she also has an appreciation for aesthetics and can take a UX project from beginning to end, including producing user interfaces and pixel perfect finished products.

Her ultimate goal is to bring everyone together on the customer journey, demystifying experience design using collaborative & inclusive design processes.
