After many years of profiling clients using Feng Shui tools, I realised that people that are out of balance and seeking harmony usually have a physical equivalent in their home environment. A simple way of explaining this is that in your home environment you need a balance of Yin and Yang. Yin refers to female energy, harmony, good health, and a quiet and peaceful environment. Yang energy refers to male energy, drive, career, motivation, and financial rewards.
Homes with too much Yin energy usually present still energy, not a lot of moving air, curtains that are often drawn, and too much darkness. I have noticed that people in this environment can feel a lack of motivation, struggle with health issues that have a psychological impact, and feel low.
An environment that is too Yang presents with music that is too loud, excess sunlight, a lot of shouting and screaming. People in an environment with too much Yang energy usually have issues relating to anger and frustration, can be argumentative, and/or place too much emphasis on career and money.
In Feng Shui we look for balance, which means ensuring that Yin and Yang energies are active where they can be most beneficial. Yin energy works well in bedrooms and meditation rooms. Yang energy is better in living areas and the music room. Some areas are considered neutral in Feng Shui, that is, they can be either Yin or Yang depending on how they are utilize. Examples are the study and the kitchen.
Feng Shui is all about the flow of energy. Picture yourself entering a house and observe how easy it is walking around it. The biggest hindrance to the flow of energy is clutter. When a client is struggling with a certain issue, it is often quite easy to identify it by looking at their clutter. For example, a person struggling with health issues will often have clutter in their pantry/ fridge while struggles with romance will prompt me to analyse the master bedroom.
On my next post I will unpack further the issue of clutter and your external surroundings. Send me a message if you would like more information on how to improve your environment.
