How people actually decide to buy:

→ B2C? Fast and emotional
→ B2B? Slow and strategic

It’s not about which is “better”, it’s about mapping your message to the way they buy.

Smart marketers adapt the journey, not just the creative.

📌 Save this if you’re planning campaigns across both.

The biggest waste of budget in Australian business is training that stops at the "Finish" button.

Compliance training is a baseline. It ensures your team knows the rules. But capability training is where growth happens. It ensures your team has the judgment to handle difficult conversations, the skill to close complex sales, and the autonomy to solve problems without your constant input.

At Alexium, we bridge the gap between "knowing" and "doing." We design instructional programs that move beyond generic theory and embed real-world skills through:

1️⃣ Scenario-based learning designed around real Australian market challenges.
2️⃣ Measurable milestones that track actual performance rather than just completion.
3️⃣ Integrated tools and frameworks that stay with the team long after the session ends.

Don't settle for a certified team that still needs micromanagement. Build a capable team that executes.

Today we pause to acknowledge the service and sacrifice of our ANZACs, past and present.

We honour the spirit of mateship, courage, and endurance that defines this day across Australia and New Zealand.

Lest we forget.

It’s Month 2 of a 3-month project.

The team feels busy, the energy is high . . .

But then a key stakeholder says, "Wait, this isn't quite what I had in mind."

That single sentence can derail everything.

Morale plummets. Weeks of work go down the drain. We've all felt that sinking feeling.

The root cause isn't a lack of effort. It's a lack of alignment from Day 1.

The most productive teams we’ve ever worked with are almost religious about their kickoff process.

Before anyone writes a line of code or builds a single slide, they lock in the answers to these questions:

1️⃣ Can we all state the core problem we're solving in one clear sentence? (If not, you're not ready).
2️⃣ What does success look like? Let's paint a picture of the finish line so everyone is running towards the same one.
3️⃣ What are the 3-5 specific, non-negotiable things that must be true for this project to be considered complete?

This isn't bureaucracy. It's the ultimate project accelerator.

What’s the one question you’ve learned to always ask before a project kicks off?

Think about your team's recurring meetings. How many of them are just status updates where people passively listen?

What if you replaced one of those meetings this month with a conversation that could actually change how you work together for the better?

It's called a "Start, Stop, Continue" retrospective.

It's the simplest, most powerful team meeting you can run.

The agenda is just three questions:

1️⃣ Start: What is one thing we should start doing to be more effective?
2️⃣ Stop: What is one thing that's getting in our way that we should stop doing?
3️⃣ Continue: What's one thing that's working really well that we should protect and continue doing?

This isn't about complaining. It's about taking shared ownership of the team's process.

It’s a conversation that fosters honesty and a commitment to getting better, one small tweak at a time.

Ever been in a meeting where everyone agrees on a great idea, and then . . . crickets?

A week later, nothing has happened because everyone assumed someone else was taking the lead.

This is the hidden tax of ambiguity. It stalls momentum and creates resentment.

A RACI matrix is the simplest way to kill that ambiguity.

Before you leave a meeting, you clarify roles for every action item:

1️⃣ Who will be responsible for the work?
2️⃣ Who will be accountable for the work?
3️⃣ Who do we need to consult input from?
4️⃣ Who needs to be kept in the loop?

Taking 5 minutes to assign these roles is the difference between a conversation that feels productive and a project that actually moves forward.

Clarity is one of the kindest things you can give your team.

Soft skills are often treated as “nice to have” (a complement to the real work).
But in every high-performing team, they’re the backbone.

Communication.
Empathy.
Adaptability.
Clarity.
Emotional intelligence.

These aren’t soft.
They’re structural.
They determine whether a team moves forward or gets stuck.

Technical skills decide whether someone can do the job.
Soft skills decide how well the team works together, under pressure, and through change.

Teams with strong soft skills:
– solve problems faster
– avoid unnecessary conflict
– communicate expectations clearly
– adapt with less friction
– build trust that accelerates performance

And as workplaces evolve, the human elements of work are quickly becoming the real differentiator.

Our latest Human Side of Work article reframes soft skills for what they truly are:
the engine behind every high-performing team.

Sometimes it’s quite worrying when everyone agrees on everything.

It's usually a sign of one of two things:

1️⃣ People are afraid to speak up.
2️⃣ People don't care enough to challenge the status quo.

Both are toxic to growth.

The best teams we know have passionate, sometimes heated, debates.

They argue about the data, the approach, the "right" way forward.

But here’s the crucial part: The debate is about the idea, not the person.

And once a final decision is made (even if they personally advocated for a different path), they rally behind it with 100% commitment. No "I told you so" no passive aggression, no sandbagging.

That is the "Disagree & Commit" strategy.

It’s the ability to separate the battle of ideas from the unity of the team. It requires massive psychological safety and mature leadership to pull off.

How have you seen this play out (for better or for worse) on your teams?
