We’re Finalists for the ACDN Cake Mates Award!🙌

Now that every one of our fellow Bake Babes finalists nominees have been announced in their award categories, it’s time to celebrate US!

Never thought we’d get this far, so both of us would love to thank you all for your support, for nominating us and for embracing what we have created in bringing this community together. We really are surrounded by a very amazing group of colleagues!

One more step to go though, so to make it all count we would absolutely love and appreciate it if you could vote for us in this final deciding factor of the awards. Public voting is now open until 18th August.

Effective immediately, I will not be taking on any orders until further notice.

At the moment, the economic climate we are living in has made it extremely hard for small businesses like myself to continue.

The cake decorating market is flooded. Cost of supplies, insurance, council registration versus competing with other cakers who are charging ridiculous pricing makes it impossible to compete.
Please keep in mind that if businesses are charging you a lot cheaper than others, there is a reason - be aware!
I can not stress enough the importance of using council registered business when it comes to ordering food products.
Correct food safety practices are so important, and there are a lot of businesses that don't follow the rules. Then we wonder why there are so many illnesses around.

This has not been an easy decision for me. I need to focus on my health and my family.
I want to thank my loyal and regular customers who have been with me since the beginning. It has been a pleasure creating for you.

This is not goodbye but a 'see you later!'

We’ve been nominated! 🙌
For the Jo McIntosh Cake Mate Award organised by the Australian Cake Decorating Network.
This award recognises someone that always has your back, helps out, who lifts you up, encourages you, to go to for advice, to vent to, that offers a shouldber to cry on and can bring like minded people togeather in our industry.
That is EXACTLY what BAKE BABES is all about!

Back in early 2021, post Covid Koula from and I had made plans to catch up and meet in person after we had been Instagram friends for many months. We each were suggesting a fellow caker/baker who would love to come along. As the list grew we said “let’s just host a lunch, invite who we would like to plus put an open invitation on our Instagram stories for all Melbourne based cake/cookie decorators, dessert creators and other businesses in our industry.”
We did not expect the invite to be so well received and for so many other beautiful business owners to come along!
The day came and went. We received a positive response from the ladies who were appreciative of such an event, an opportunity to meet fellow colleagues. The most common feedback we got was , 'We needed a group like this!'.
Instantly, we both knew that WE had to continue these events and bring more people in our industry together, and Bake Babes was born.

We created a chat group where we spoke daily giving advice, seeking advice, sharing tips and tricks, or just a general chat about our daily life We created social media pages and expanded our reach to include fellow colleague from all around Australia ,nd we now have Babes coming to us from the UK and USA and other countries around tgtheorld.

Bake Babes was formed as a way of bringing everyone in this business industry together. We are a positive, nurting, equal 'no egos allowed' community. We are NOT each other’s competition!

Bake Babes also has the support from some amazing suppliers in our industry who also spsponsorur end of year goodie bags. We love you guys!
Bake Babes advocates for you. We encourage you, we celebrate your wins and we pick you up on when you have setbacks. We’ve got your back!
