What has the Prohibition of Alcohol in the U.S in the 1930’s got to do with Bullying in the Workplace?
In relation to leadership excellence, relationship development and effective team building, the ugly truth is, businesses have been hoodwinked by the academics, learning and development professionals and the consulting guru’s of this world by designing and presenting crowd pleasing, “highly-acclaimed” programs by “high-profile” organisations, which to a significant degree have failed to live-up-to expectations, culminating in twenty-plus-years of workforce complacency, mediocrity and underperformance. How so?
Underperformance :
The sad reality is, while we hear no-end of businesses, productivity commissions and even governments screaming-aloud to be more innovative and efficient to maximise productivity, the contrast, gap and disconnect is, local and international researchers for the same twenty-plus-years, Harvard Business and Gallup Research International for example, continually report three-quarters (Matrix identifies 77%) of the workforce are disengaged*. Three-quarters, what does that tell you?
How does cutting-edge technology, more effective measurable functionality expose even more disingenuous behaviour?
Of greater relevance and more critical in today’s workplace is, the Matrix advanced measurable functionality takes the unparalleled step by further exposing, a whopping 32%* (within that three-quarters) of individuals who “mask” their bad attitudes and underhanded behaviour, bringing about catastrophic consequences. The problem is you can’t even see it! Let me explain. These contemptible individuals have effectively moved “underground” by hiding their “observable-behaviour” as they go about undermining and destroying previously open, positive and constructive relationships.
Aggressive and intimidatory behaviours sabotage constructive relationships :
This bad behaviour is alarming because it’s similar and akin to the devastating impact that “prohibition-of-alcohol” had in the U.S. in the 1930’s whereby authorities discovered, the greater the “effort-and-push” to reel-in the production of alcohol, the more it moved “underground” thus making it even more difficult to detect, address and stamp-out. And so it is today, problematic, frustrating relationships, aggressive, bad behaviour and bullying is inadvertently being driven underground as perpetrators have “smartened-up-their-thinking” by effectively “camouflaging” their observable behaviour. So, what can be done to eradicate these individuals?
The Underperformance Safety-Zone of the World :
At the Matrix we refer to these individuals (32% of the workforce) who sabotage constructive relationships, as the foundation partners and cornerstone of the Underperformance-Safety-Zone-of-the-World”. As such be aware, businesses are unknowingly vulnerable, they are exposed and being taken-advantage-of because, what you can’t SEE, you can’t MANAGE and what you can’t manage you can’t CHANGE! . . . Not any more!
Today’s “highly acclaimed” attitude and behavioural tools simply don’t cut-it! :
Our extensive research and innovation, relative to the “design” of the Matrix tool, provides extended insight, clearly demonstrating that merely “adjusting and adapting”, to relate to a counterpart simply doesn’t go far enough. All too often these programs are outmoded and often unknowingly past their use-by-date, leaving one or both parties unwittingly “flying-blind” and unproductive, finishing up metaphorically speaking, in “no-man’s-land, lacking an optimal reference point and understanding “how” and “which-way” to redirect the conversation to become more effective and constructive. This gap can be crystalised by “test-driving” the Matrix in tandem / parallel with any “other” diagnostic tool, which will highlight this disparity.
The Solution :
Put yourself in the driver’s seat to test-drive the Matrix and make your own comparison relative to the myriad of “other” “high-profile” and “highly-acclaimed” attitude and behavioural transformational change tools and programs. Buckle-up, because you will be in for the ride-of-your-life, akin to getting out of a reputable Audi or V.W. and slipping into the drivers seat of a finely tuned, high powered Maserati or Lamborghini. The difference is, a level of sophistication in development leading to performance, par-excellence.
You can liken the Matrix to, being on steroids, relative to the many “other” tools and programs, such as, DiSC, Hogan, Myers-Briggs, Predictive Index, DDI, Emotional Intelligence, Neuroscience and Social Styles. That’s the Matrix difference!
Simply put, today’s leaders, high-performance individuals and/or problematic, difficult individuals, may have the inclination to become more effective with their counterparts, however, simply aren’t “applying” their new learning “effectively” in the workplace. Nor do they have a “measurably-effective” process, showing them where to go and how to have greater influence, impact and control with their counterpart to maximum their performance, measurably. Enter the Matrix, with proven and measurably effective solutions and results with a +43% performance improvement on average.
