Here's a new way to share a link in Google Chrome - use “Copy link to highlight” when sharing links. Then when a recipient opens your link, it will directly to the part of the page you selected, instead of the top of the page. Here's how:

1. Highlight the text you want to share.
2. Right-click and select "Copy link to highlight".
3. Then you can paste the link anywhere you like, such as an email or message thread.

Here’s a few new terms which are being considered for inclusion in the Macquarie dictionary:
Cheugy – ( pronounced chew-gee ) used to describe someone considered untrendy, out of date or trying too hard.
Teenior – a senior citizen who acts like a stereotypical teenager.
Seratonin Donor -someone you turn to when you’re sad as they make you feel better.

For Apple iPhone 6 and higher you can set your phone to light up and flash when you receive a call, even when it is on silent - here's how:
1. Tap Settings.
2. Tap Accessibility.
3. Scroll down a bit and find Audio/Visual.
4. Scroll some more then select Switch LED Flash for Alerts (e.g. the device will ring and flash simultaneously).
5. Also select LED Flash on Silent if you want the device will to flash when the ringer is set to silent.
Here’s my tip on doing this – if your phone is on silent and is face down the camera flash on the back is very bright and some might find this as intrusive as the phone ringing – if you have the phone face up you can still see it flashing, but it is not as bright and obvious as having it face-down, when the camera flash is completely exposed.

Handing your phone to a friend or colleague to show them a photo means you take the chance they are stickybeaks and might just start swiping and checking out pics you may not be willing to share. Luckily, protecting personal photos is simple:
1. Open the Photos app and locate the photo/s you wish to hide.
2. Tap Select at top right of the screen then tap each photo you want to hide – you will see a blue tick appear on the selected photo/s.
3. Tap the share icon (the square box with an up arrow) in the bottom left of the screen.
4. In the menu choices which appear tap Hide (you may need to scroll down a little to see this).
5. Tap Hide Photo to confirm the action.

Note: after selecting Hide on your chosen photos they will only be found in the Hidden album.

I'm getting stuff ready for my next column in the Australian Counselling Association journal and I'm going to do a rundown of 'new' slang as used by Gen Z (8-23 or thereabouts).
Does anyone have any they would like to share? - here's two from me to start:
Bougie - from the word bourgeoisie, adjective used pejoratively for someone or something which is a bit fancy and usually pretentious.
Salty - to be annoyed, upset, or bitter, usually about something minor.
