Cool Karma Collected aims to integrate the ancient skills of mindfulness with contemporary Western psychology, neuroscience and medical knowledge to produce innovative and powerful programs for living well. Our foundational course is the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) developed by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Center for Mindfulness (CFM) within the University of Massachusetts. The course ha

s been scientifically tested and approved and has over 30 years of compelling research and results. The program is taught worldwide and has recently been featured on the front of Times Magazine, on Oprah, practiced at Google, and talked about by numerous presenters at TED. Due to demand we have expanded our program offerings to include workplace mindfulness programs, interpersonal mindfulness, yoga teacher trainings, retreats and leadership courses. We will continue to expand our programs to serve the community as best we can.

Over a thousand people have experienced our eight week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program in the ten years we have run them. A common theme that many share is that the program helped
them know themselves more deeply and proactively take better care of their overall wellbeing.

With so much uncertainty and complexity in this world I wonder if there is anything more crucial than having all the inner resources possible to manage the wild ride we are all on.

At Cool Karma Collected, community is everything. Something magical happens every time we run our Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses – each group starts as strangers and yet finishes as a deeply connected community. Coming together for 2.5hrs each week for eight weeks facilitates something truly remarkable; it fosters connection, community and shared humanity in a safe and supportive space. Connecting to a group of strangers, in a way we don't often have the opportunity to, can ultimately feel like coming home—a profoundly nourishing and enriching experience for everyone involved.

We begin on Tuesday 12th July. We'd be honoured to have you join our community.

After chatting to everyone in my life these past months, from friends to colleagues and clients, it has become quite clear that many of us a feeling the same. A little like we are in the trenches right now with no real end in sight - "I just need a really long holiday" is what many of us exclaim and I'm right there with you.

Its also true that Melbourne has not been her usual lively self over the last few years, so it can be easy to forget just how beautiful she can be if we give her a little bit of our time.

After one particularly "in the funk" Monday morning a few weeks ago I decided to block out my afternoon calendar and hit the St Kilda sea baths. With $20 and a 3 hour block I sat in the spa, swam in the bay, breathed, sat in the spa, swam in the bay, and breathed again. It was enough. In fact I felt so good for the rest of the day I had a beautiful evening with my family and it totally changed the trajectory of my week. It was a simple and very enjoyable plesure and it renewed my spirit. I thik we could all do with a bit more of that this year couldn't we?

I've found 3 things Melbourne has on offer that won't break your bank, and may be just enough to keep going for a little longer and and renew your spirit.
