The Altona Woodworkers Club is a hidden treasure right in the centre of Hobsons Bay! 🪵 🪚 🛠️

Have you seen the feature on them in The Westsider's October issue?

We were glad to support the club in our latest grant round with $1,000 toward a new scroll saw. 💜

The saw makes woodworking safer and more accessible for older members and residents living with disability, so more locals can drop in and learn new skills.

Community Fund Grants in Action: Coastal Renewal at Jawbone Reserve 🌱🌊

Wonderful to see Friends of Williamstown Wetlands out on-site with local school students preparing Jawbone Reserve for its next phase of native planting.

The Community Fund provided a grant supporting this project to help the community restore vital coastal habitats and deepen our collective connection to this sanctuary.

Thank you to all the volunteers working together to look after Hobsons Bay for the long term.

Alex Keath played AFL for the Adelaide Crows and the Western Bulldogs.
He played Big Bash cricket.
Then he walked away from elite sport — and started asking a different question.
"What do I actually want to build?"
Now he's at Morgan Stanley, deep in financial services, and pouring energy into philanthropy. On June 19, he's bringing that story to the Hobsons Bay Community Fund Business Lunch at Williamstown Town Hall.
It's not a motivational speech. It's an honest conversation about what elite performance teaches you — and what it doesn't — about building something that lasts.
If you're a business owner, leader, or someone who cares about this community, this is the lunch for you. Don't miss out on early bird tickets closing today.
